last but not least, our senior!!

Arushi, one of our fall set choreogs and co-prod chair 📽️, is our most beloved senior majoring in course 18 + 6-3 (math + cs). she’s from portland, oregon and started learning kathak at the age of 7. while she doesn’t quite know her favorite indian song, her love for dance makes up for it :) in her free time you can find her doing crosswords and puzzles 🧩, drawing, and being a D1 henna artist 🧑‍🎨

up next we have our gorgeous juniors!! 

Diya is majoring in 6-7 (cs + molecular bio). she’s from bloomfield hills, michigan and learned bharatanatyam for over 9 years. her favorite indian songs are ‘Mental Manadhil’ and ‘Dilliwaali Girlfriend’ 🎆 and aside from being shahrukh khan’s #1 fan, she enjoys baking, reading, and shark diving/swimming 🦈

Kareena, our kathak choreographer, is majoring in course 16 (aerospace engineering) 🚀 with a minor in course 6 (computer science). she’s from hillsdale, new jersey and has learnt kathak for over 14 years since the age of 6 ‼️ she’s too indecisive to choose her favorite indian song, but her top 3 right now are ‘Kashish’ by Ashish Bhatia, ‘Mileya Mileya’ by Rekha Bhardwaj, and ‘Ishq Mera’ by Jubin Nautiyal. aside from dancing, her hobbies include tinkering with rockets and robots 🤖, hiking, and spending time outdoors 🥾

Riddhi, one of our fall set choreogs, is a course 6-3 (computer science) 💻 from buffalo grove, illinois. she learned kathak for 11 years and her favorite indian song is ‘Kesariya’. her hobbies include dancing (obviously), reading, writing, and badminton 🏸

next up are our amazing sophomores (and captains)!!

Deetya, one of our captains, is majoring in 6-7 (cs + molecular bio) and minoring in 15-2 (business analytics). she’s from nashua, new hampshire and she learned bharatanatyam for 15 years starting at age 3 👶. her favorite indian song is ‘Jhol’ by Maanu and Annural Khalid and her hobbies are calligraphy and of course dance (bharatanatyam + bhangra) ⭐

Harini, our second captain, is a double major in 6-5 + 18 (eecs and math) 🔢. she’s from seattle, washington and learned bharatanatyam for 10 years. her favorite indian song is ‘Velicha Poove’ and her hobbies (aside from dance) include listening to music, watching movies, traveling, and trying new restaurants 🍕

Srilekha, our final captains, is a course 6-14 (cs + economics) 💰 from garnet valley, pennsylvania. she started learning kuchipudi at the age of 6 and has been learning for 14 years! Srilekha’s favorite song is ‘Sirivennela’ and on the side she loves to bake 🎂 and try new foods 🍝

TARANG IS FOUR DAYS AWAY!! in the mean time meet our wonderful team starting with freshmen!

Ananya is a course 20 (biological engineering) minoring in 15-1 (business management). she’s from ames, iowa and learned bharatanatyam for 12 years 😱 her favorite indian song is ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ and aside from dancing she loves to watch movies, read, and birdwatch 🐦

Jiya is a course 16 (aerospace engineering) 🛰️ and is from orlando, florida. she learned kathak for 7 years and her favorite indian song is ‘Jashn-E-Bahara’ 💗 her hobbies include reading, baking, and of course dance 💃

Samhita is a 2A-6 (mech e + cs/ai) also minoring in brain and cog sci 🤓 she’s from old bridge, new jersey and learned kuchipudi for 11 years starting at the age of 7 🐤 her favorite indian song is ‘Nenu Nuvvantu’ and her hobbies are reading, hiking, writing, and in true engineering fashion building lego sets ⚒️

Zoe is a 6-3 (computer science) major from vernon hills, illinois (basically chicago 🙂). she learned kathak for over 9 years and her only hobby is dance 👏 her favorite indian song might be ‘Tu Hi Hai’ from dear zindagi but she really just likes them all 🎵
