Our in-person company outing is wrapping up today, and it’s been a thought-provoking and successful week!

We’ve reviewed product updates and roadmaps before the essentials – an icebreaker and a Town Hall.

Products aside, it's been refreshing to connect with our colleague’s face to face.

We’ll be back in soon with fresh new ideas and inspiration. Stay tuned!

We’re very excited to share our latest offering developed especially for the corrections market. Unfortunately, correctional facilities are struggling to stem the flow of drugs into prisons and jails, particularly papers soaked with drugs and other harmful substances. When dried, the drug-laced papers can be undetectable to humans, making the papers an ideal substrate for smuggling.

RaySecur recognized the urgency of the problem and worked in partnership with multiple state departments of corrections and private correctional facility management companies, leading to the development of exclusive imaging capabilities that specifically target drug-laced papers.

The enhanced imaging capability in the MailSecur scanner provides a simple, real-time visual indication that sheets of paper inside a sealed envelope have been treated with drugs, eliminating the need for extensive operator training. Untreated or normal paper displays a green image, while treated papers will present as yellow or red depending upon the saturation level.

Covid has significantly changed the in-office experience for employees – we can all think of new policies that have been implemented in the wake of Covid, and even two years after.

Here’s a threat that companies may overlook, and it has nothing to do with masks or social distancing, it’s the mail.

That’s right – the physical mail that gets delivered to the office.

In last month's episode of Security Management Highlights, sponsored by RaySecur, Will Plummer explores how Covid has forced the remote workforce to restructure their physical mail security, since threats that were previously sent to the office, may now be sent home, or those threats may be sitting in the office until a remote employee swings by to grab the mail.

Will suggests that new training and security efforts should be implemented to help deal with “the new normal” of mail security threats for the remote workforce.

Significant man-hours are devoted to mail screening, yet harmful substances continue to be missed. The problem is pervasive, straining limited correctional staff and resources, harming officers, and contributing to inmate violence, overdose, and death.

We explored this issue during our webinar: Hidden in Plain Sight: See Smuggled Drugs and Contraband in Inmate Mail - Without Opening It.

If you’re interested in learning about how to keep correctional facilities safe from drug-laced papers, suboxone strips, powders, liquids, electronics and contraband, sign up to get the on-demand recording sent to your inbox.
