A Recall Is Never Routine Maintenance

According to Reuters, Ford is recalling 223,472 F-150s because improperly secured fuel tanks could leak or detach, increasing the risk of stalling, fire, or a crash. Our take: Vehicle owners and fleet managers should check recalls promptly—proactive inspections protect drivers, prevent downtime, and keep small problems from becoming dangerous ones. Last week we had our first brush of the season with a "Nor easter" storm. What does that mean?

𝗔 𝗡𝗼𝗿'𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼-𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁 of North America, named for the strong, sustained northeasterly winds blowing onshore. Fueled by cold polar air colliding with warm Atlantic or Gulf Stream waters, these low-pressure systems deliver heavy rain or snow, gale-force winds, rough seas, and coastal flooding.

Southern Maryland typically experiences 2 to 4 significant Nor'easters per year, primarily between October and April. Because of its coastal geographic position, So. Md. often sees tidal surges, beach erosion, and heavy rainfall rather than high snow totals.

In last week's storm, we had between 1" and 1-1/2" of rain. Our primary impacts from that system were driven by strong northeast wind gusts (25 to 35+ mph) and persistent tidal surges leading to coastal flooding.

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁: about 1 in 4 vehicles on the road right now has at least one significantly underinflated tire. 😲 It's one of the easiest things to miss — but also one of the easiest things to fix! Check your tire pressure monthly using a gauge and the recommended PSI listed on your driver's door jamb sticker. Underinflated tires wear out faster, reduce fuel efficiency, and can even affect how your car handles in an emergency. A little habit like this goes a long way! Got questions? The friendly team at Cheseldine Auto Group has got you covered. 🙌
