Just a few highlights from our first meet of the season!

On October 7th the AMS XC team ran against five other schools in the 2021 FCAA Region Championships! This was a tough course, but our athletes rose to the challenge and quite a few stood out!

Sheyla Ramirez got a new PR: 19’05” 🎉

On October 2nd the AMS XC Team had a great time running around Paris Lake in the annual Rome All Area Championships! It was a beautiful morning and running conditions were perfect!

Cece Kolterman finished 14th overall in the girls race and brought home a medal! 🎉

Earlier this week the AMS XC Team had a great time running in Gordon County United Way’s 28th Annual Unity Run! Wish them luck as they compete in the Rome All Area Invitational this morning!

-Luis Alvarez: 26’55”(took 5min 13sec off)
-Cece Kolterman: 26’58”(took 10min 40sec off)

This past Friday the AMS Cross Country team had a great time at Atlanta Track Club’s Wingfoot XC Classic! This was the largest race any of our runners have ever participated in! They ran fast, jumped over hay bails, and 17 of them set new PRs!

This past Tuesday our athletes were able to “Go the Distance” in Dalton’s 3rd Annual Go the Dalton Distance race at Haig Mill Lake Park! This was a trail run which was a new experience for many of our runners. It was a unique race because the kids got to compete by grade level.

Our 6th Grade Girls Team finished 🥉 Overall!

This past Saturday our XC Team got to experience running in the mud for the first time! Saturday was a very wet, rainy day, but our Athletes rose to the challenge and did a great job running at Armuchee’s 2021 Trail Run!

Wednesday afternoon was a bit rainy, but that did not deter the AMS XC Team! They competed against 12 other schools at Cartersville’s annual Hurricane Alley, and our athletes showed up and showed out! All 30 of our Athletes got their best time so far this season. 27 of those athletes set new PRs for themselves! 🎉

Yesterday the AMS XC Team competed in the annual Gordon County Skirmish. 2️⃣3️⃣ of our athlete’s got their best time so far this season! The Girl’s Team finished🥈overall!

Julie Jacobo set a new PR for herself (20’ 57”)! This is a huge accomplishment for the first meet of the season and we are beyond proud of her!
