Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.
As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything for them.
From all of us at Calhan Fire Department, thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward. ❤️🤍💙

The storm is coming!! Be prepared. Traveling may be more difficult with the freezing temperatures and snow. Be careful and take your time!!
- Tuesday Morning Update -
The overall picture remains largely unchanged as our late season snowstorm steadily ramps up over the high country. Showers will be consistent for most areas today, especially north of I-70, with a mix of rain and snow for the lower elevations but little to no snow accumulation during daytime hours below 6,000 ft. Snow will be heavy at times in the high country.
Lower elevations will transition to all snow later this evening, with accumulations occurring overnight and through midday Wednesday, locally extending into the afternoon. Expect slick spots for your morning commute. Forecast snowfall has been increased slightly for the lower elevations, with 4-8" expected for most of the urban corridor, and up to 12" closer to the foothills and for the Palmer Divide. Most of this will be on colder surfaces (grass, trees, etc.). A widespread freeze/hard freeze is expected Wednesday night.

Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of firefighters everywhere.
Calls answered, lives and property protected, and every act of service reflects the commitment these men and women make to their communities each day. From emergency response and fire suppression to medical calls and public safety education, firefighters stand ready 24/7 when others need help most.
We are proud of the members of our department and grateful for the support of our community. Please join us in recognizing all firefighters — past and present — for their selfless service and unwavering dedication.
Thank you to firefighters everywhere for all that you do.
