Hehl Haven Ranch
Small family owned ranch. We have various poultry (chickens, turkeys, guineas, geese, ducks) and honey bees. We have been on this ranch since November 1995.
In the past years, we had cattle and hogs, however due to our age we decided that large animals were more than we wanted to handle. We changed our focus to Chuck's meat processing business, our bee hives, and my love for the feathered poultry.

WOW. Stuff is happening around the ranch. This is the earliest that I have seen this in all my years in Colorado. The Giant Dewlap Toulouse laid their first egg this year. The bees are out and hungry. Looks like all 6 hives made it through winter. The daffodils and tulips are blooming. The asparagus is growing. The incubator is full of goose eggs (all sebastopols except for the lone Dewlap egg). We have more turkey hens and muscovy ducks than we need so if you are looking send us a PM, DM, call, or text.

Update - both pairs have found new homes.
We have a Giant Dewlap Toulouse Pair currently looking for a new pond. This is a unrelated pair. The male is from a pair that had a blue gander and grey goose so could have blue in background. These both were hatched last year and are currently less than a year old. As you can see in the pictures, the male is already a really big guy and has lots of growing to do. As my main goose flock is Sebastopols with a small flock of Dewlap Toulouse, I just ran out of separate space for these two and the breeding Toulouse does not want new members to their group. Send a message for additional information.

UPDATE: 5 of the 6 eggs are growing.
We have the first six eggs for the Sebastopol flock going into the incubator today. The flock has been moved to various breeding pens and we are hoping that all goes well with lots of goslings this year. Fingers crossed, we should have the following colors of goslings this year: blue, grey, lilac and splash which could be saddle back or solid. We could also have buff, buff saddle back, white color carriers. The breeding pens are set up so we know possible colors of goslings from each pen. Of course all those hidden colors can give us surprises. I do have one yearling pair currently available (grey saddle back male and white color carrier female). It is possible I may have another pair but have not fully decided. Please message for additional information on the goslings or pair.

As winter is approaching once again and I am not getting any younger, I have made the decision to make some hard choices about downsizing the bird flock. I have decided to cut some of the colors of English Orpington that I have been breeding. The Silver Laced, Isabel, and Blue/Black/Splash flocks will be rehomed. The turkey flock will be cut back to 5 hens and 2 toms. The Muscovy duck flock will be cut to 10 to 15 ducks. If you have an interest in any of these birds please contact me. I will be posting on various pages.

Sebastopol Goslings. Here we are at the end of our hatching for the season. We have 5 more eggs to hopefully hatch. I will say that this year has been long and somewhat heartbreaking with many eggs going 30 days and just not hatch. Never thought I would say too much rain and humidity here in Colorado. With this being said, the last goslings of the season will be DNA s*xed so I can choose goslings to keep for breeding. I have the results of the first 4 and there is 3 males and 1 female. Again not what I would hope for since most people want females. I have these 3 males available. They are a solid grey, a grey saddleback, and either white or splash. They are currently going on 3 weeks old. They must go as two or three together. Our flock are full curly feathered with the following colors: white, buff, grey, buff and grey saddleback, lavender splash, cream, and blue. For the people who want the beauty of Sebastopols and don't care about having future goslings males will get along fine in their own flock. It is when you toss a female into the mix that you get fighting. For the last two years I put extra males into what I call the bachelors pen and they get along great. Once breeding season is over all our geese (Dewlap Toulouse and Sebastopols) are together to roam around with whomever they want. If interested in 2 or 3 of these male goslings, please send a message via messenger.

Ducks, ducks. and more ducks. Muscovy ducklings. We have two groups of ducklings. The older group are off heat and the younger group are just 2 weeks old so still require heat. We have only Muscovy ducks on our ranch and the flock consists of chocolate, lavender, white, blue, black, cream colors. Many of our birds are barred and pied. I do not know the s*x of the ducklings. We are located 4 miles from the Town of Calhan. Please message via messenger for additional information. Also let me know you are asking about ducklings since I have multiple listings.
