Manisa Ranch Suri Alpacas

I received the big sign in April of 2016, and since then, I have been inducted into the warm and supportive family of alpaca owners. I am now the proud and happy owner of almost 20 Suri Alpacas, and we are expecting four newborns this Spring. My alpacas range in color including fawns, browns, blacks, and greys. My alpacas are from Wildlife Ranch Suri Alpacas, and come from a long line of champions due to Jim Weir and Connie Marrs’ successful breeding program. Jim and Connie have been outstanding mentors and friends. It is my honor and goal to carry their award-winning breeding program forward. My alpacas are currently being agisted (boarded) at Jim and Connie’s ranch in Littleton, Colorado, and will soon be moved onto my new location, Manisa Ranch Suri Alpacas, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Join me as I learn to handle, train, care for, breed, and show my alpaca companions. Watch me share my new world with my family, all of whom are artists, as we use the fleece to create fiber arts including carding, spinning, dying, felting, weaving, knitting, and crocheting.
“Manisa” has many meanings within different cultures, but I chose it since one Native American translation is, “One who brings happiness.” I hope these photos and stories bring you as much happiness as they have brought me.
