Blending form, easy function & cost effective solutions I've been in business for 15 years with plenty of references for my work & character.

I rely mostly on referrals, so it is of utmost importance to me to see that my work is of high quality that is guaranteed by myself in writing & the insurance policy that covers my work. I am upfront if a particular job would be better suited for someone else, in which case I often have good references I can provide. I offer things like:

Most people notice the surface first, but it is often the little things underneath that decide how long something really lasts.

Fasteners are a good example. Small, easy to overlook, and often one of the first things to fail when time and weather start doing their work. When the pieces that hold everything together begin to give out, the rest usually follows.

That is part of the philosophy behind all of our rebuilds and work. Not just making something look better today, but strengthening the details that help hold it all together over time. This deck was rebuilt with stainless fasteners throughout, then refinished and brought back to life from the structure to the surface. Railings, stairs, spindles, decking, details, all pulled back into something solid, clean, and ready for years of use.

A deck like this is not just backyard curb appeal. It changes how the whole home feels. More usable space, safer footing, cleaner lines, and a finish that can actually be enjoyed again.

If your deck is splintering, peeling, loosening up, or simply showing its age, now is a good time to bring it back before another season does more damage.

Based in Essex County and helping clients across North Jersey with rebuilds, repairs, custom work, and the kind of projects that deserve to be done right from the inside out. Reach out about your project.

We removed the existing platform, stabilized and repoured the base, and expanded the usable floor area.

Finished with custom reclaimed wood cladding to preserve the texture and warmth of the space.

To welcome spring and the newly opened front space at The Waterbar Powered by Thought in Motion, the first 250 people who mention this post during March at 127 Valley Road in Montclair, NJ will receive a complimentary small drip coffee.

Grab a coffee, explore the studio, and see the finished space in person.

Some pieces deserve more than another season of being overlooked~

A table that’s tended to—cleaned, oiled, and brought back to its best—changes the way people gather around it. The feel of the wood, the warmth of it… it becomes part of the memory.

I’m always drawn to spots like this because I can see what they could be. Sometimes that means building something completely new, sometimes it means restoring what’s already there. Wood tells you when it’s ready to be worked on—it doesn’t run on myths or timelines, just on how well you pay attention to it.

If you’ve got a piece that deserves that kind of attention, or an idea you’d like built from the ground up, I’m always looking for the next project with real potential.

Decks and fences are made of both hard and soft grain. The softer spring wood is more absorbent, so it breaks down faster when exposed to water and sun. Power washing blasts it out, leaving grooves, splinters, and shortening the life of your deck.

I use a soft wash approach that gently cleans without tearing into the grain. Paired with the right maintenance, it keeps your wood smooth, safe, and strong—protecting your investment for years to come.
