As much as I enjoy making classic leather goods, there’s a part of me that truly enjoys creating bold statement pieces. Which do I like making more? I still haven’t decided.

January is new project month. My good friend patiently waited for me to make him this holster and the day finally came!

I wanted to make this with a clean modern feel so I focused on minimizing the design and incorporating smooth lines to the overall pattern. I spent the largest part of my time just refining the design. Once that was done, the rest of the process was straight forward. Overall it was a pleasure to make and it came out beautifully!

Now if anyone wants a holster for a c**t single action revolver, I’m all set. 👍🏻

This week we’ve had a variety of projects on the workbench. From coasters, to a sword scabbard. There’s never a dull moment around the leather shop!

Winter is around the corner and so we watch as Mother Nature goes to sleep. The pulse of the land seems to wax and wane in hibernation. The air grows sharp and the yellows and greens of life are replaced by browns and blues. Blanketed with white. Still alive, just waiting. Waiting for the sun to say “it is time to wake once more.” Until then, the world underneath us, around us, on top of us, simply waits. And we, the stewards of this place, watch with wondering awe as the world transforms before our eyes.
