This program is helping local seniors stay safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes.

Well done to everyone involved!

The Butte Aging at Home Program started earlier this year and provided funding and free labor for those who qualified to make modifications to homes that make it easier for senior citizens to get around.

Now some are pushing to expand the program throughout Montana

A missing and endangered person’s advisory has been issued for Koda Salminen on behalf of the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office have reason to believe that Koda Salminen is in danger. He was last seen in Helena, Montana at 8:00 am on June 18th, 2026. Koda was taken from his home by a non-guardian family member named Dennis Follette. Dennis is known to have health concerns that make caring for a child dangerous. Possible direction of travel to Ft. Peck or to Wyoming. If you have any information please contact Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Office or call 9 1 1.

We appreciate everyone's interest and support. The training will be rescheduled for a later date, and we will share updated information as soon as it becomes available.

The American Red Cross is bringing its Be Red Cross Ready preparedness program to Butte on June 18, 2026, at the Butte-Silver Bow Emergency Operations Center.

Be Red Cross Ready is a free preparedness education program designed to help people understand, prepare for, and respond appropriately to disasters. Whether it's a wildfire, severe weather, power outage, or another emergency, you'll learn simple steps you can take now to help protect yourself, your family, and your home.

📅 Choose the session that works best for you:
➡️ Lunch Session: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
➡️ Evening Session: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Both sessions cover the same material.

Topics include:
✔️ Building an emergency kit
✔️ Creating a family communication plan
✔️ Making your home safer during emergencies
✔️ Accessing Red Cross preparedness resources and services
