Montana Lineman's Rodeo Association
The Montana Lineman's Rodeo is an annual competition where Power Lineman, Backhoe and Equipment Operator's gather and compete.
Montana Lineman’s Rodeo Association Update:
Our website is currently down, and we’re in the process of building a new one that will better serve our linemen, families, vendors and supporters. Thank you for your patience while we get everything rebuilt and back online.
We’re also proud to share some leadership updates within the MTLRA. Sean Dafferner has graciously accepted the role of President, and Tim Newman is stepping into the Vice President position. Their dedication to the rodeo and the Lineman community means a lot, and we’re grateful for their willingness to lead.
This year’s Montana Lineman’s Rodeo will kick off on July 17th with the Lantern Ceremony, followed by Competition Day on July 18th. The rodeo will continue to be held in Townsend, Montana.
Thank you for your continued support of the Montana Lineman’s Rodeo Association. More updates will be shared as we move forward with the new website and preparations for this year’s events.

CK would like to remind everyone we have ‘10 sleeps’ until his favorite time of the year starts. His first Lineman Rodeo he was 10 days old and he can often be found helping pick the perfect egg, selling raffle tickets or his favorite, playing in the sand box with his buddy Clyde. If ya see the feral Dixon or Newman boys running around say hi and ask for a joke, I’m sure they’d oblige.

Can anyone guess what’s inside these 16 boxes??
We’re less than a month away from rodeo time!

Rodeo History
The Montana Lineman’s Rodeo was originated in 1992, when a group of Local Union 44 IBEW Lineman attended the International Rodeo in Kansas City, Missouri. Their enthusiasm for the event resulted in the development of a Montana Rodeo, to identify the best teams to send to the International Rodeo. This group of volunteers worked tirelessly to develop the Montana Lineman’s Rodeo and the Rodeo Association into what it is today.
