After all the bills were paid, our Hello Gorgeous! Golf Outing raised $12,182.34 to help provide free surprise makeover experiences for women battling cancer.

This number represents so much more than dollars. It represents generosity, community, friendships, sponsors, volunteers, golfers, donors, and every single person who believed in our mission.

To my amazing team…and to my incredible friends…thank you.

This year, I challenged us to be better than we were last year. I dreamed of a full golf course and wanted to make this outing bigger than ever before. I pushed hard because I believe so deeply in this mission. I hold myself to the same standards I ask of everyone else. If I’m asking someone to do something, you can bet I’m willing to do it too.

As I reflect on everything, I also realize that leadership is a journey. I put a great deal of pressure on myself, and at times that pressure spilled over onto others. That’s something I’ll continue to learn from and grow through.

What I’ll remember most isn’t what we didn’t accomplish. It’s what we did.

I’ll remember the people who showed up without hesitation. The people who stayed late. The people who asked, “What else needs done?” The people who quietly carried boxes, sold tickets, gathered donations, recruited golfers, solved problems, and believed in this mission every step of the way.

My friends were there without question. My team worked incredibly hard. Our volunteers gave their hearts. Our sponsors believed in us. Our community continues to amaze me with its generosity.

People often say you find out who your friends are when life gets hard. I think you also find out who your helpers are. The people who stand beside you, believe in your vision, and give their time expecting nothing in return. I am blessed with so many of those people.

We didn’t quite reach that full field this year—but I have no doubt we will. Because with this community behind us, anything is possible.

Because of every one of you, we’ll continue giving women battling cancer a day where they feel beautiful, supported, loved, and reminded that they are so much more than a diagnosis.

Thank you for believing in Hello Gorgeous. Thank you for believing in our mission. And thank you for believing in me.

My heart is full.

There are businesses that sponsor events… and then there are businesses that truly become part of your mission.

This month, our Hello Gorgeous makeover was a little different. We were honoring two incredible sisters, both facing their own cancer journeys. Because of that, I called Serventi’s on the Runway and explained the situation. I even offered to pay for one of the women’s meals since they have so generously treated our makeover recipient every single month.

Before I could even finish, they said, “We’ve got this.”

No hesitation. No questions. Just pure kindness.

Every single month, Serventi’s on the Runway provides our Hello Gorgeous makeover recipient with drinks, an appetizer, and a delicious meal, making her day even more special. This month, they doubled their generosity without a second thought.

That is what community is all about. That is what compassion looks like.

There are moments when you simply follow your heart.

When Nichoel nominated her sister, she wasn’t thinking about herself. She was thinking about the woman she loves.

Her sister has been courageously battling Stage IV colon cancer since October 2024. Her prognosis is not promising, and the road has been incredibly difficult. Between treatments, the emotional toll, losing her hair, being unable to work, overwhelming medical bills, and raising three children as a single mother—two of them still very young—she has had very little opportunity to care for herself. Nichoel simply wanted to give her sister one day to feel beautiful, loved, and surrounded by kindness.

What made this nomination even more extraordinary is that Nichoel has been fighting her own battle. After facing breast cancer, she recently underwent a double mastectomy and completed her final reconstruction surgery just last week.

As I read her nomination, I couldn’t stop thinking about these two incredible women. One sister, in the middle of her own healing journey, was focused entirely on lifting up the other.

With the blessing of Hello Gorgeous!, my amazing team and I decided to do something we’ve never done before—we gave both sisters a surprise makeover.

Because sometimes cancer affects an entire family.

Sometimes the caregiver needs cared for.

Sometimes the strongest people are the ones quietly carrying everyone else.

Friday wasn’t just about hair, makeup, nails, or beautiful outfits. It was about giving two deserving sisters a day without appointments, treatments, surgeries, or worry. A day to laugh, cry, hug, and simply feel beautiful together.

Thank you, Nichoel, for reminding us what selfless love looks like.

And to both of these incredible women—thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. We hope you left knowing what we’ve known all along…
