We were honored to attend the recent open house and ribbon cutting celebration for Pink Umbrella Theater Company, as they celebrated the first phase of improvements to their location at 1104 W. Mitchell Street, Milwaukee.
Berghammer is excited to partner with Quorum Architects, Inc. as the team seeks to transform the existing event venue space into a one-of-a-kind theater experience that welcomes performers, patrons and visitors of all abilities and accessibility needs. Current planning efforts include accessibility and restroom enhancements, updates to the lobby and performance spaces, an elevator connection to the lower level, and finish updates throughout the building.
The name "Pink Umbrella" reflects the belief that there is room for everyone under the umbrella - a philosophy that guides its vision forward. Founded in 2018, Pink Umbrella Theater Company is Milwaukee's first theater organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of the Disabled Community through performances, classes, and workshops that engage Disabled Actors and Artists.
Congratulations to the Pink Umbrella Theater Company team on this milestone!

Our Social Squad recently organized an amazing day of service with our friends at Humane Animal Welfare Society - HAWS of Waukesha! We spent time at the HAWS Schallock Center for Animals in Delafield, lending a hand with barn cleaning, gardening, and constructing a dumpster enclosure. Our team also assisted with projects that help keep the facility running smoothly for the resident goats and horses.
The Schallocks, among the founding members of HAWS, entrusted the Humane Animal Welfare Society with a beautiful 77-acre property known as Star Hill Farm. Recognizing that the key to building a more humane community lies in youth education, they envisioned a place where people could learn, explore, and connect with nature.
What an honor to support this mission and make a positive impact for both people and animals through service! Thank you to the HAWS team for welcoming us and for the important work you do every day for animals and our community.

✅ HOW IT WORKS – St. Stanislaus Parish, Historic Renovation and Addition
Berghammer is excited to be part of the transformation of the future Fatima Center for St. Stanislaus Parish. This project is a renovation and addition to a 140-year-old cream city brick building anchoring the east end of historic Mitchell Street, across from St. Stanislaus Church in Milwaukee. When complete, the project will feature a new three-story addition and rooftop terrace with exposed cream city brick, coffered ceilings and extensive woodwork highlighting the interior of the restored building. The new space will accommodate meeting, assembly, and hospitality functions for St. Stan’s for generations to come.
Originally a neighborhood meat market, the structure was carefully gutted to its brick and timber frame and is now being restored under the purview of the Milwaukee Historic Preservation Commission. This type of construction work happens below grade, with tight clearances, and around aging foundations, all while respecting the original historical structure.
We’ve done deep excavation, foundation repairs, and hand-executed underpinning inside the existing basement, completed with less than 8 feet of overhead clearance. This job definitely requires creativity, craftsmanship, and coordination between our concrete, carpentry, and field teams.

Welcome to our summer intern, Sophia Weber!
Sophia is currently pursuing her degree in Construction Management at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), with an expected graduation in Spring 2028. Sophia brings a wealth of work experience to our team, and we are honored to be her first official internship in the construction industry. This summer, she is most excited to jump into the day-to-day project work, and watch how structures evolve from concept to completion.
A native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Sophia is the oldest of four siblings. When she isn’t studying or on the job site, you can find her baking, painting, or playing soccer. She also loves spending time with her dog, Walter, and enjoying the best ice cream spots by the beach. 🐶 🏖️
Welcome to Berghammer Construction!
