BLT History

Although there are programs dating back to 1921, the Butler Little Theatre received its official charter in June 1941 with performances at The Lees Restaurant (tickets were 50 cents!), the Butler High School, and the Sterling Club. Theatre doesn’t happen without the people who give their time, talent, and heart to make it possible. 🎭

We’re grateful to be part of Butler County’s vibrant arts community and thankful to Molly Miller for highlighting the volunteers, performers, and storytellers who keep local theatre thriving.

Katie Moore, vice chairperson of Butler Little Theatre’s board, says it can take 125 hours to produce, direct, or act in a community theater show.

“Whatever amount of time you think it takes to do something in the theatre, you should probably double or triple that number,” said Ken Smith, co-founder of Hobnob. https://buff.ly/5Nw24vU

📸 These Photos Are Fantastic...
But do you know what's even better?
Seeing it happen LIVE.

The wonderful has captured some incredible moments from Hay Fever — the chaos, the confusion, and the wonderfully eccentric Bliss family in all their glory.

But photographs can only capture a moment. To experience the perfectly timed comedy, the unexpected reactions, and the delightful mayhem the way Noël Coward intended, you'll have to join us in person.

🎭 Our final performance is almost here! Don't spend next week wishing you'd accepted the invitation to the Bliss family weekend getaway.

🎟 Get your tickets now (available on our website) and join us for one final evening of laughter.

As our cast of eccentric artists, reluctant guests, and oversized personalities create delightful disorder onstage, Stage Manager Glen Bittner is the one keeping everything perfectly organized behind the scenes.

From rehearsals to performances, helps coordinate every nuance and moment that allows the rest of us to look far more competent than we probably are. A production like Hay Fever may appear effortlessly chaotic, but trust us — that only happens because someone is making sure it all happens at exactly the right time.

Thank you, Glen, for helping keep the Bliss family blissfully (and safely) out of control. Don't miss your chance to see the comedy unfold. Hay Fever closes soon!

Today, we're tipping our hats to Production Assistant, Myers, who has spent the rehearsal process helping keep Hay Fever running smoothly behind the scenes.

You may be used to seeing Cole under the spotlight, but for this production he's traded witty dialogue and dramatic entrances for rehearsal notes, backstage support, and countless little tasks that help bring the Bliss family's weekend of mayhem to life.

The audience gets the comedy. We get to see the work that makes it happen. Thank you, Cole!

Now all that's left is your chance to see the chaos unfold. 🎟 Hay Fever continues until June 6! Get your tickets at our website.

Thanks for a fantastic opening weekend! We took a break yesterday and Hay Fever is back on tonight at 7:30 pm.

Every chaotic household needs:
✔ Someone trying to hold it together
✔ Someone who has seen it all

Katy Wayne (Clara) — doing her best
Jud Stewart (Richard Greatham) — calmly observing the chaos with the quiet confidence of a man who is not at all surprised by any of this
We’ll let that speak for itself.

Onstage: siblings.
Offstage: very much not.

Sam Thinnes and Molly Miller bring all the charm, chemistry, and just enough chaos to make you question everything.

We’ll leave it there.

Happy Opening Night!

An actress. Playing an actress. What could be more dramatic?

Heidi Nichols Bowser is Judith Bliss — theatrical, extravagant, and absolutely living for it.

And honestly? So are we.

One arrived for a quiet weekend…
The other made it considerably more interesting.

Matt Leslie (Sandy Tyrell) — doing his best to keep up as everything spirals.

Laila Tyler (Jackie Coryton) — enthusiastic, charming, and perhaps a little too ready for the drama.

This weekend is off to a fantastic start.

One is perfectly at home in the chaos…
The other walked straight into it.

Andrew Miller (David Bliss) — unbothered, tea in hand, as the world unravels around him.

Megan Flannery (Myra Arundel) — poised, perceptive, and quickly realizing this weekend was a mistake.
