Excited isn't a strong enough word for this one!
Next Wednesday, May 20th, our Director of Learning Development, Amanda Marciniak, is joining the team at Kyloe for a conversation we've been looking forward to β a behind-the-scenes look at how we've put their data tools, AI, and automation to work inside SSi People's tech stack.
Amanda has been at the heart of this work, and she's pulling back the curtain on:
β What it actually took to roll these tools out across the organization
β Where AI and automation are creating real efficiency for staffing teams
β Why Learning & Development plays a bigger role in tech adoption than most companies realize
If you're in staffing, ops, L&D, or just curious how leaders in this industry are turning AI hype into real results β block this off.

After two years of frozen budgets and stalled hiring, the IT and engineering staffing market is finally showing real signs of life heading into spring 2026.
According to TechServe Alliance β the leading industry association for IT and engineering staffing β activity is moving again before revenue fully follows, and consulting and solutions-oriented work is expected to lead the recovery as organizations prepare for AI adoption at scale.
What this means right now:
πΉ If you're hiring β the window for top IT and engineering talent is reopening. Cybersecurity, cloud, data, and AI/ML roles continue to dominate demand, and contract-to-hire is increasingly the default for senior technical positions.
πΉ If you're job-seeking β movement is returning to the market. Specialized skills (cyber, cloud, AI) get noticed first, and hybrid and contract paths are widening, not closing.
For over 26 years, SSi People has helped Fortune 1000 companies and IT and engineering professionals navigate exactly this kind of inflection point. The organizations and the candidates who move with discipline and clarity in moments like this are the ones who win.

AI isn't coming for hiring β it's already here.
Resume screening, skills assessments, interview scheduling, even first-round video interviews are increasingly AI-driven. For candidates, that means the rules of the game have changed. For employers, it means the bar for sourcing and selection just got higher.
What this looks like in practice: β Keyword-optimized resumes now get parsed in seconds β not minutes β Skills-based matching is replacing pedigree-based screening β AI-scored interviews reward structured, evidence-backed answers β Soft skills, judgment, and adaptability matter more β not less β because they're what AI can't replicate
What candidates can do right now to stay ahead:
1. Build AI literacy. You don't need to be an engineer, but know how AI tools work in your field and speak fluently about them.
2. Translate experience into skills. Rework your resume around demonstrable capabilities, not job titles.
3. Lean into the human edge. Storytelling, stakeholder navigation, and ethical judgment are the new differentiators.
4. Keep upskilling β publicly. Certifications, GitHub contributions, and LinkedIn learning badges signal what AI can't see on a static resume.
5. Prepare for AI interviews. Practice structured answers (Situation β Task β Action β Result) and deliver them with clarity and pacing.
The candidates and companies thriving in this next era won't be the ones resisting AI β they'll be the ones working with it, intentionally.

The 2026 IT and engineering hiring landscape isn't slowing - it's sharpening.
Robert Half's latest research forecasts 1.9% growth in net tech employment this year (roughly 128,000 new tech jobs) with salaries projected to climb 8β10%, and premiums of 10β15% for cybersecurity talent. The roles leading the charge:
β’ Cybersecurity engineers
β’ Data scientists & analysts
β’ Cloud and AI/ML engineers
β’ Platform and DevOps specialists
But here's the shift hiring leaders can't ignore: only 7% of tech leaders say they have the capabilities in-house to deliver on their priority projects, and 65% need to upskill their current teams.
Translation: the companies that win in 2026 won't be the ones with the biggest req lists - they'll be the ones with the sharpest sourcing strategy and the most flexible workforce model.
That's where the right staffing partner changes the math. Read the full Robert Half report: https://buff.ly/eUW5ZBa

When companies talk about their "ideal" tech hire β calm under pressure, mission-focused, quick to learn new systems, and a natural team leader β they're often describing a veteran without realizing it.
The skills developed in military service translate remarkably well to IT and engineering roles:
β Disciplined problem-solving in high-stakes, fast-moving environments
β Cross-functional leadership honed years before most civilian peers
β Security-minded thinking that's invaluable as cyber risk grows
β Adaptability β because every deployment is a new system, a new team, a new mission
At SSi People, we've placed veteran talent into roles across cybersecurity, cloud, systems engineering, and program management β and the feedback from hiring managers is consistent: they show up, they lead, and they lift the whole team.
If you're a hiring leader building out your tech roster this year, don't overlook the most underutilized talent pool in the country. And if you're a veteran exploring your next move β we'd love to talk.
