UVM Rescue is a Vermont state licensed 911 Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance staffed and operated by University of Vermont students.

The primary responsibility of UVM Rescue is to provide emergency medical care to the University of Vermont campus, Fletcher Allen Helipad, and the University Health Center (UHC). UVM Rescue is also the secondary ambulance for Burlington, South Burlington, Shelburne, Winooski, Richmond and other local communities as part of its mutual aid plan. It started in the bleachers.

A patient complaint turned into a rapidly deteriorating emergency, ending with a full code. Huge credit to one of our alumni for running the scenario and our CCIT for leading the training that pushed everyone to adapt and perform under pressure.

We train like it matters because one day, it will.

As we wrap up EMS Week, we just want to say thank you. We are incredibly grateful for all of the agencies we have the privilege of working alongside every day and for the constant support from our community. Thank you as well to everyone who generously dropped off gifts, food, and kind notes for our crews this week. Your support truly means so much to us! He plans to finish paramedic school, work in the ED, and serve with Cambridge Rescue, South Hero Rescue, 45th Parallel EMS, and Charlotte Rescue. Eventually, he plans to attend medical school.
