Yesterday, our grades 3โ5 students hit Lake Champlain! โต๏ธ They set sail, learned the ropes, and everyone got a turn at the wheel. So proud of these little captains working together and crushing it on the water! ๐โ๏ธ

The beauty of learning together. โจ
โOur Kita Aleph students paired up with their Reading Buddies for a meaningful Kriah review session. It is beautiful to watch our students mentor and support one another, practicing foundational Kriah skills to build fluency.
โAt Tamim, we cherish every opportunity to bring students together across different grades and skill levels, growing closer as one warm school family. ๐๐ค

Last Thursday, our school divided into two exciting and enriching activities: ๐
While our K-2nd graders rolled up their sleeves at the New Village Farm in Shelburne, learning how to use tools safely, cutting brush to feed the goats, and discovering that wood whittling requires much more patience and focus than it looks, our older students (grades 3-6) headed in a completely different direction and traveled to Montpelier.
At the Vermont State House, they got a firsthand look at a real legislative session and saw exactly how decisions are made for our state. From there, they moved on to the Vermont History Museum, where they explored exhibits and traced how our towns and landscapes have transformed over the last 200 years through historical maps.
Itโs always great to break the routine, but the best part is seeing them return at the end of the day tired, happy, and full of stories about learning experiences you can't get inside a classroom.

May was all about Lag BaOmer and Shavuot. Our classes are always filled with hands-on, fun learning.
We are focusing on expanding vocabulary, having conversations, and asking questions in Hebrew while playing many games that help reinforce language use. Through open discussions and practice, the kids are applying what they learn in the most natural and correct way. ๐ฌ๐ฒโจ
Itโs so wonderful to see them improve and grow each session!

๐๏ธ Shelburne Museum: Ultimate Hands-On History.
โOur students spent the day exploring the Shelburne Museum as part of the Passport to Learning program, and it was an absolute blast. ๐บ๏ธโจ
โThey got to learn inside a real 1840s one-room schoolhouse, crack Morse code, try Lego printmaking, and figure out the mechanics of a massive steamship. ๐๐จโ
โWe love seeing them so curious and connected to everything around them. Can we go back already? ๐

This past Monday, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, students across grade levels explored themes of justice, fairness, and standing up for what is right. 1st- and 2nd-graders watched videos about Dr. King. They discussed how unfair treatment based on skin color, religion, or other differences can harm others, and learned that it is our responsibility to stand up for what is right. They expressed their learning through artwork, creating signs with messages of kindness and fairness. 3rd through 5th graders watched a video highlighting the connection between a Jewish rabbi and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which led to thoughtful discussions about present-day inequality, moral responsibility, how far we have come, and how much work remains to create a just and fair society.
