No. I am not going to look at you. You stole my manhood today. You suck to put it mildly. I don’t like you at all. When I feel better you better sleep with one eye open. I mean it. Daffy.

It’s 2:30 on $5 Friday and I am just finding time to post even though there are some vet bills to cover by six tonight. That’s how busy it has been. I have been traveling for work for the last two weeks also which has added a whole other layer of stress! This week we lost two of our sweetest boys . Hank had been with us for many years and Rocky had just been with us for a couple of months but they both had the same issue and that was a very bad heart. Last night we lost our most feral dog, Brewster. We had been trying to catch him for weeks to get him to the vet and we finally did last night. Unfortunately he had a multitude of health issues that caused our vet to recommend giving him peace especially since we could rarely catch him and could not get him to take any medication. I held him for a long time after he was gone which was nice because we had never been able to touch him. I told him how much we loved him and how I wished that he had been able to trust us. My main concern this week had been Bernie who is my favorite girl. She injured her back and could not walk. We thought we might be at the end with her but our wonderful vet thinks he can get her back up on her feet and give us a little more time!!! Unfortunately this comes with a hefty price tag. X-rays and medication are so expensive now. We have received three donations today so far and we are thankful for those but secretly hopeful that late in the day this will turn into a great $5 Friday! We have lost several donors lately which has made life a little harder but we will still work hard every week to make sure everyone gets everything they need. We can only do this because of your kindness, generosity and concern for the welfare of these precious seniors.

Three tiny blind puppies that nobody wanted. Even the shelter wanted to euthanize them. They have brought so much joy and happiness to our family. No one is worthless because they are different and everyone deserves a chance at happiness. When we embrace what is unique a whole new world of possibilities opens up to us. I love these babies so much!

Mommy said I need to say THANK YOU because today I am getting my teeth done and I am going to feel so much better. Mommy said it’s all thanks to you!! I am going to feel like a puppy again! Shelly went with me too. She has an earache. I wish I could change places with her! But I think we are going to both feel better by the end of the day! ❤️🐶💕
The shelter called me yesterday and said that four dogs had been brought in by the sister of the owner who was out of the country apparently without his knowledge. She was supposed to be watching them. He will be gone for one month and these dogs could not stay at a very full shelter so we were asked to watch them until he returns. Our quarantine house has been empty for quite awhile so we fixed it up for them. We are excited to have guests! The only thing is one of these guests doesn’t look too good. He will need to see our vet. He is very, very thin and just doesn’t seem well. I will tell you that if my sister ever did this she better find the best hiding place there is. Thankfully I know she never would! We are now officially Air Bed and Dog proprietors!❤️💕❤️🐶
UPDATE: making some changes to be able to offer more help to seniors in need.

We only had three donations today for $5 Friday but we had two dogs that really needed help so we decided to leap and pray that the net will appear. The first super tiny is Delilah. She was found in a ditch by a Fed Ex driver. She was not in great shape but two wonderful women took excellent care of her and she thrived. She will be spayed and have a dental soon and should be just like new! She is a fear biter but is has been interesting to see that being around the other dogs has done a world of good for her in a short time. She just fit right in with the car crew like she was born to be there! She lined up for snacks and cuddled hard with the others while we did errands. She was front and center at Starbucks! I think she is going to do just fine. The second girl that really needed help was Madeline. Madeline was a stray with horrible skin and mammary tumors all along both chains. She is having bloodwork and X-rays right now to determine if this is cancer and if it has spread. These girls deserve to have the care that they need and we will make sure they receive it. It is so sad to me to see these precious senior citizens needing anything. They should be snacking and napping! That’s the goal!

The sweetness of the love these two share touches my heart. Both unwanted. Now best friends. Agnes and Katie. I am so glad I get to witness these precious moments. After being out all day in the harsh world it is such a joy to come home to nothing but love. Lucky me!

I lost my boy Chance this morning. He was 23 years old and had lived a very long time with a Grade 6 heart murmur. He loved to sleep in my sink and always kept me company while I was getting ready. I got Chance quite by accident. I went to the shelter many years ago to pick up a tiny Chihuahua whose owner had taken his own life. When I got there they asked me if I also wanted the one that came in with him. Since my motto is leave no one behind I said yes. So glad I did. My sweet boy. You will be so missed until we meet again. I love you..❤️💕❤️🐶

Here’s the 4-1-1 on Skipper. He needs our help. Skipper has undoubtedly had a hard life. He has been dumped three times that we know of, hit by an 18 wheeler and ended up in a filthy kennel in an abandoned house with many other neglected dogs. He has been unwanted everywhere he has been and has received little to no vet care except for what another rescue was kind enough to offer. In spite of this he is a loving, sweet boy who wants to belong. In the last few days I have noticed that he has lost weight, something seems to be affecting his eyesight and his mouth smells horrid. I had him up to see Dr. Garcia today and he agrees that his mouth is very painful and the infection there may be causing swelling that is affecting his vision. He did bloodwork today to make sure there is nothing else going on, gave him a shot for pain and another to try and slow down the infection and some antibiotics to take at home. If his bloodwork is good he will need emergency surgery as soon as possible. Without it his mouth could go septic and he will die. We were not expecting this but now we have to make it happen. Losing Audi today was very hard. I will do everything in my power to ensure that this boy makes a complete recovery and gets to have the life he always should have had. It is past time for someone to do the right thing for him. This surgery will run approximately $1200. I am going to apply for grants for it but any help is always appreciated. I want him to know he can count on someone.
