I'm proud of the outcome of this project, a kitchen in a condo at the Burien Town Square Condominiums. The project was completed in 2024.

In 2022, I was hired to reinvent and expand a mobile home in Seatac, WA. It was a superb challenge! It's a project that is ready to go, but construction costs are mad and the project is on hold.

SEAHURST AFFORDABLE ARTIST COTTAGE DEVELOPMENT
I developed this plan for the Burien Affordable Housing Demonstration Program. It was impossible to build to the original required % AMI, which has since changed.
I love the idea of cottage developments tucked into single family neighborhoods that blend into the neighborhood without sticking out, but deepening the idea of community. Per the original affordable housing program, the cottages would be for sale to working artists to allow them to begin building equity and live in a supportive community environment. There is active interest in this type of housing.

This project is an addition to the client’s existing garage which is situated 20 yards up the hill from the high bank waterfront home. The design program was to create an efficient but comfortable two bedroom home for him and his teenage daughter that takes advantage of the water view. I used a beautiful existing stone chicken coop as the base support for the deck. The topography and history of the site creates such interesting visual layers. The client’s goal was to live in the ADU and rent the main house.
