Lightning Strike chronicles the story of 17-year-old Marcus Newsome from Compton, California, a city known for its crime and home to some of the most notorious gangs in the country. Never one to succumb to the pressures of his environment but simultaneously feeling trapped within them, Marcus knows that his city is in drastic need of change. But what can he, a mere kid, possibly do to stem the tide of evil he sees everyday?
