3iSpreader
3iSpreader is a specific design for a specific product. It fits the world's most popular tubular metal tripod to create the most reliable connection ever.
The 3iSpreader finally solves the problems that conventional spreaders create. It securely connects the 3 feet of every standard Ronford tripod with 3 quick release T-pins. No more bungee cord loops. It also introduces the 3iSpreader system by replacing the Ronford spikes with 3iSpuds that allow the tripod to rest on 3 rubber tipped feet and not on a floor level, metal spreader. No more spikes and no more scratches. No spikes, No bungees, No problem

Is your skateboard dolly too small for your tripod ? No problem for the 3iSpreader. The weight of the fully loaded jib arm is taken by the spreader alone. Not a job for bungee cords. The 3iSpreader : solid and dependable.

It was for a David Lean film called RYAN'S DAUGHTER that DP Freddie Young BSC asked a camera rental house called Ronford Baker to design and manufacture a tripod that was able to withstand wind, rain and seawater. The result became the gold standard of tripods starting in the late 1960s and remains that way today in every film production center worlwide.
