KEEP PETS COOL 🐾 As temperatures continue to rise, Bullhead City Animal Enforcement Officers remind pet owners to take extra precautions to keep their pets safe.
▪️Provide plenty of fresh water and shade.
▪️A small wading pool can help pets cool off outdoors.
▪️Never leave a pet unattended in a vehicle, even with the windows cracked. If you see a distressed animal left in a vehicle, call 911 immediately. Officers can quickly respond and take appropriate action.
▪️Avoid walking dogs during the heat of the day. Hot pavement can burn their paws. Choose early morning or evening walks instead.
▪️If your pet is required to be tied up while outside, make sure it has plenty of shade and water. The tie should be no shorter than 10 feet.
There are some signs of pet dehydration, including excessive drooling, lethargy, bloodshot eyes, and loss of skin elasticity. If you are concerned your pet may be dehydrated, get it into the shade, provide water, cool it down with a damp cloth and contact your veterinarian.
Remember: If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them. ☀️

It's going to be a busy hot summer....... we run 3 programs and we're all volunteers.... in addition, we do Pet of the Week every Monday. Any spare time, you'll see us helping other organizations. Yesterday we volunteered to help Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter at their Petsmart Adoption in Bullhead so that they had enough hands for the dogs they wanted to bring. Thank you to all who came and adopted!!!!!! However, these 4 were not adopted and went back to the shelter. All great dogs. PLEASE GO MEET THEM AND WE GUARANTEE YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE AND TAKE THEM HOME!!!! The Mohave County Animal Shelter in Kingman is at 3423 N. Burbank St.
