Depression can change the way the brain functions, but the brain also has the ability to adapt and heal through neuroplasticity. 🧠

NeuroStar TMS therapy uses focused magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive areas of the brain associated with depression, helping patients move toward relief and remission.

✨83% of patients experienced symptom improvement and 62% achieved remission after completing treatment.*

My next post is me! đź’Ż

Many people do not know that before I ever considered opening a practice in this community, I researched the statistics. What I found was difficult to ignore. The need for quality mental health care was significant, and honestly, I was not sure I would be able to make it here because of the challenges facing mental health services in this area.

Yet here I am.

I came to Bullhead City with one purpose: to make a difference in people's lives. Every day, I am reminded that I am doing exactly that. The impact may not always be measurable on paper, but it is visible in the people who are healing, growing, and finding hope again.

One thing that sets me apart is that I am not from here, and I do not accept the idea that things cannot improve. I believe there is always a better way, and I will continue working to find it.

Mental health professionals can easily become lost in systems that prioritize productivity over people. Providers become burned out, overwhelmed, and expected to see patient after patient without truly understanding the person sitting in front of them. That is not how I practice. I ask my providers to see people for who they are. I encourage therapy experience because therapy teaches us things that medication management alone never can. It gives us time to understand the individual, their struggles, their strengths, and their story.

There is a reason I became a social worker before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Understanding people has always mattered more to me than simply treating symptoms.

I also believe that if a patient would benefit from a treatment or service that I do not offer, they deserve to know about it. Healthcare should never be about keeping people "in-house" at the expense of providing the best possible care. It should be about helping patients access the treatment that gives them the greatest chance of success. Our responsibility is to the patient first—always.

Mental health is real. The need is growing, and the demand for quality care in this region is unlike anything I have seen throughout my career. I have been working in mental health since 2018 as a social worker and later advanced my education at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I wanted to help even more people.

Education matters. Experience matters. Compassion matters.

Most importantly, people matter.

I love what I do. I believe in what I do. I will continue fighting for better mental health care, advocating for my patients, and challenging systems that have forgotten why they exist in the first place.

I came here to make a difference.

And I'm just getting started.

After trying multiple antidepressants and still feeling emotionally flat, Mariah began exploring other options for her depression. That’s when she discovered NeuroStar TMS. 💜

“At the end of treatment, I finally started noticing a difference. I have energy again, more than I ever had on antidepressants and without side effects.”

Today, Mariah is reconnecting with the things she loves most, including art, movement, and building healthier routines one step at a time.

Her story is a reminder that every mental health journey looks different, and finding the right path can take time.

According to Mental Health America, nearly 20% of American men experienced a mental health condition in the last year*, yet many still struggle to seek support.

Mental health conversations matter. So does access to effective, evidence-based care.

NeuroStar TMS therapy is an FDA-cleared, non-drug treatment option for adults with depression who haven’t found relief from traditional antidepressant medication.

Tomorrow marks two years since opening our doors in Bullhead City.

As I reflect on this milestone, I am incredibly grateful for the journey, the lessons learned, and the people who have been part of it. These past two years have brought growth, challenges, opportunities, and countless moments that have shaped both me and this practice.

When I first opened Resilient Minds Psychiatry, I had a vision: to increase access to quality mental health care and create a place where people felt supported, heard, and empowered. What I could not have predicted was how much this community would embrace that vision and help it grow.

I am proud of what we have accomplished together. Not because of the growth we've experienced, but because of the lives we've had the privilege of impacting along the way. Every patient, family, referral partner, employee, and community supporter has played a role in this journey.

Building a business is never without challenges, and healthcare is no exception. But every obstacle has reinforced an important lesson: resilience is not about avoiding adversity—it's about continuing forward despite it.

Two years later, I remain as committed to this mission as I was on day one. We continue to grow, continue to learn, and continue to look for new ways to better serve our community.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted, supported, encouraged, and believed in us over the past two years. We would not be here without you.

We've come a long way, but I truly believe the best is yet to come.

Here's to continuing to rise—together.
