We had the honor of welcoming Erie County Legislator Taisha St. Jean T**d, and Lou Petrucci Commissioner of the City of Buffalo’s Department of Permit and Inspections Services (DPIS) for a visit and tour of our growing spaces. Specifically our newly acquired former McDonald’s building, it was a great opportunity to share the vision and the progress with both of them.

Our Board President and team were honored to welcome back Mo, along with Erin from Empire State Development. It was a great opportunity to showcase our current space at 240 West Ferry and give a tour of the newly purchased former McDonald’s building.

We’re proud to share the progress we’ve been making—from interior remodeling to securing incredible tenants. This includes a Burmese grocery store opening in just a few weeks, a local tailor for all clothing and alteration needs, and a barber shop—with more on the way.

As summer approaches, we’re also gearing up for volunteer opportunities! Join us for landscaping, gardening, interior painting, and hands-on projects as we continue building out these spaces for the community.

Today, we are thrilled to welcome the new superintendent of Buffalo Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, to our community!

We had the wonderful opportunity to host a meet-and-greet with the community, and we couldn't be more excited about his openness and eagerness to , , and work to strengthen our bonds.

It’s clear that Dr. Pascal Mubenga is committed to building a brighter future for all our students and families, and we’re looking forward to the positive changes that lie ahead.

A huge thank you to our entire team at HEAL International for organizing this impactful event, and special thanks to our amazing board members Mustafa Abdo, Juweria Dahir, Abdalla Mohamed and Mohamed Awil for their dedication and effort in making this happen! We are passionate about helping everyone achieve livelihood, and this is just the beginning of a partnership that will support growth, opportunity, and unity.
