Hartman’s Distilling Co. Barrel Room has become one of my favorite little whiskey hideaways in Buffalo ...and there’s more going on behind that door than you might realize.

Thursdays are a particularly good night to wander in. They usually put together a pretty impressive whiskey flight, and if you know which local bourbon groups to watch, you can get a peek at the lineup before you go.

Then there are the bottles. 🍾
Because Hartman’s is a distillery, you’ll occasionally find things behind the bar that you’re not going to see sitting on the shelf at your average bar.

And if you happen to notice a beautiful, unmarked decanter tucked among all those bottles… that belongs to Lauren — aka one of the best bartenders in Buffalo — and it’s her infinity bottle.
Yes, you can get a pour.

There may even be more secrets hiding in that room....

Yesterday, I finally toured Buffalo Distilling Company, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to check them out. Right here in my own backyard, they’re crafting small-batch spirits with big personality and even bigger flavor.

The building has history in its bones, and you can feel the pride that goes into every barrel. From their signature bourbon and rye to the unique apple brandy, every pour tells a local story.

The tour was everything I love about whiskey: history, craftsmanship, and a few good laughs along the way.

Whether you’re a whiskey nerd like me, a cocktail lover, or just someone who appreciates a good local pour, this Buffalo gem deserves a spot on your list.
