I know this may be hard to say out loud, but this is an issue for a lot of high-level producers.

We work hard. We produce results. We carry weight. We open doors. We solve problems.

And then imposter syndrome shows up quietly and convinces us to talk ourselves out of opportunities we are fully qualified for.

Sometimes we call it “being helpful.”

Sometimes we say, “Oh, let me pass this to someone else.”

Sometimes we convince ourselves that someone else is more ready, more polished, more connected, more deserving.

But let’s be honest.

Yes, we pass things on because we are kind.
Yes, we want to see others win.

But sometimes we pass things on because success makes people study you, critique you, question you, and find fault in you.

And the truth is, the people picking you apart are not always low performers.

But they are also not performing at your level.

Because if they were moving like you, producing like you, building like you, stretching like you, and carrying what you carry — they would not have that much time to sit around and find fault in your growth.

Girl, KEEP MOVING.

Stop talking yourself out of rooms you prayed to enter.

Stop handing away opportunities that were meant to create financial stability for you, your children, your family, and your future.

Shake loose from fear.

Fear is not humility.
Fear is not strategy.
Fear is not discernment.

Sometimes fear is just fear.

And it has held you back long enough.

Take the opportunity.
Send the invoice.
Accept the room.
Speak with authority.
Charge your worth.
Stand in your name.

You are not an imposter.

You are prepared.

You are becoming.

You are allowed to win.

I’m a believer that you reap what you SOW.

The word say you will know them by their fruit.

What are you producing? Who are you pouring into?

How are you giving, helping, educating and building?

What is your why? I’m blessed to everything that I love, ON PURPOSE, WITH PURPOSE.

I implore you to do more of those things on purpose. Listen more intently and BE.

Competing and comparing will have you distracted from the very work you need to be doing.

And let’s be honest… a lot of the separation we see in business, leadership, and community does not come from lack of talent. It comes from lack of readiness.

When we are too busy watching who got picked, who got funded, who got invited, who got posted, or who got the opportunity, we miss the part where we should be preparing ourselves to actually sustain the opportunity when it comes.

Comparison creates separation and STRESS!

Competition without purpose creates confusion.

Readiness creates capacity.

This is Part 1 because we need to talk about it for real.

Less watching. More building.

Less comparison. More preparation.

Less separation. More readiness.

I get to encounter so many amazing women in my life, and I’m grateful for them all. But if I’m being honest, God handpicked my momma for me. She’s everything and more.

Protective. Strong. Always on guard. A real momma bear. She talks about carrying me and already knowing who I would become. Looking back now, I believe her.

I never knew what it felt like to worry about food, lights being off, or lack. Even through hardships, she remained the strong one — not just for our family, but for the community around us. Always helping people. Housing people. Giving. Pouring. Loving. And y’all wonder why I hug trees and care so deeply about people? I seen it first.

Now thankfully for many people, I did *not* inherit her full response to conflict 😂 but what I did inherit was her resilience, her creativity, her heart, and her ability to keep going no matter what life looked like.

Pearl was the perfect name for her because that woman is truly a jewel. Everybody thinks she’s my sister, but she’s my friend, my protector, my front-line battler, my safe place. She’s funny, gifted, talented, creative, beautiful, and honestly one of the most unspoken heroes I know.

Growing up, I didn’t fully understand how much she protected me. Looking back now, I realize she made sure what touched her did not touch me. That kind of love changes generations.

Happy Mother’s Day to the most resilient, beautiful woman I’ve ever encountered. My momma. 🤍
And somehow… she aging backwards too. ✨
