Tragedy struck 1 too many times in the life of my friend John, who has been far too selfless of a friend to be left to his own devices now, in a time of undeniable need. With the help of the denizens of the FGC, we’ve nearly reached the $5000 goal we set to help him into this next chapter of his life, through which we hope for him to live peaceably, without having to keep nightly watch over any mentally ill family members that want to burn the house down, and damage it to the point of condemnation, leading to denied insurance coverage for the fire. We’re moving a scarcely-metaphorical monetary mountain, and only have a few miles, or dollars to go. See the links below, and in my bio. ———— In the fighting game community, many people go by handles, like “MonkeyBizness.” But on GoFundMe, the donation is either a first and last name or anonymous. It is not players and tags coming together but individual human beings, en masse, making a massive difference in a few individual’s lives, in just a minor moment and a few 🐭 clicks and ⌨️ clacks. GoFundMe makes this easy, and it’s easy for me to move people’s hearts and minds on video when I have in turn been so moved by the memories I have had with my friend who I hope to never lose access to. I hadn’t written script or executed a video this efficiently in what felt like ages; almost in an instant I recognized John’s despair as my enemy, exited mine, and put the skills and talents I’ve neglected for at least a year to use. “Use” is one way to refer to generating thousands of dollars in a few days! The rippling personal effect of this rediscovered usefulness of mine, is the strongest wave of happiness, pride, and resolve that I have felt in a long time. The sum of these 3 feelings compels me to share this fundraiser with you all, in addition to my hope that you may donate to it. Pinball is amazing, and the way it is going, there is no where to go but up! Pinball is truly fun and builds great friendships. Cant wait to see you on the other side of the counter at your events.
