Buffalo Harbor State Park just unveiled a new sprayground, expanded playground, waterfront gathering spaces, and a stunning new buffalo sculpture, giving families even more reasons to spend time on the Outer Harbor this summer.

Highlights include:

💦 A 6,700-square-foot sprayground with 162 water features
🛝 An expanded accessible playground
🦬 A new signature buffalo sculpture by artist Ai Qiu Hopen
🌿 New gathering spaces, native plantings, and more

A new chapter begins for the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library - Central Library! 📚

Congratulations to Christine Schonhart on her appointment as the next Director of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library.

A Western New York native and University at Buffalo graduate, Christine brings more than 25 years of library leadership experience to Buffalo, currently serving as Deputy Chief Librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library.

Throughout her career, Christine has led innovative public library initiatives designed to expand access to learning, culture, and community engagement. At Brooklyn Public Library, she helped launch a vinyl record lending collection and contributed to nationally recognized exhibits and programs that connected new audiences with the library.

As Buffalo's oldest cultural institution, the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library has been serving the community since 1836 and continues to play an essential role in the cultural life of our region.

We look forward to welcoming Christine back to Western New York and seeing what's ahead for the Library! 👏
