Watching the sunset amidst the grandeur of the Sahara Desert, you might imagine being greeted by a harsh, relentless sun and an unforgiving expanse of sand. However, this day was different. This evening graced me with blazing shades streaking across the sky, the coolness of the night lingering just a tad longer, despite the promise of the scorching morning ahead. On this day, I celebrated an unusual victory – waking up feeling fabulous despite the constant battle with auto immune issues. With autoimmune conditions, days can often be unpredictable; they can bring about fatigue, pain, or discomfort without warning. Yet, there’s something about this day that felt triumphant. Was it the clear desert air? The serene silence, punctuated only by the whisper of the breeze? Or just my own body, choosing this day of all days to gift me a respite? Whatever it was. I received and sat in gratitude for the little triumphs the desert gifted. In the quiet splendor of the Sahara, I was reminded that my spirit is as boundless as the desert sky, and my capacity for joy as vast as the sea of sand that stretched before me. In that moment, I was once again a warrior basking in peace, and I will carry this feeling with me, like a talisman, through harder days. Morocco: Where the only thing on the rocks were the landscapes, and every hour was happy hour with 0% chance of hangovers because I’ve taken an alcohol break. Yup….loving the clarity and unfiltered view.

The mountains in Morocco are so beautiful, and being alcohol-free has given me a new appreciation for their serenity and breathtaking views through an unfiltered lens. Absolutely loved the new sense of clarity and adventure. There is no comparison in experiencing the unfiltered beauty of Morocco, one sober adventure at a time. To think, not too long ago I probably wouldn’t have gone on a “dry” vacation. Gotta keep an open mind and keep trying new things. You might be pleasantly surprised! I was raised in East New York one of the poorest and most crime ridden neighborhoods in Brooklyn, NY to incredible parents who instilled in me the grit to work hard, commit and make something out of nothing, and that’s what I’ve done my entire life.

Chicago is The Spot Where Urban Inspiration Meets Midwest Charm! Hey….sometimes where we are heading isn’t a bad place. We could learn a little something from nature.

I mean, did you know that seeds have a built-in ability to orient themselves correctly and grow according to gravity? Plants automatically position themselves toward the sun. The roots will actually grow toward the pull of gravity and the stem or shoot will grow up and away from it. They don’t think. They just know which way to grow. This, my friends, is known as geotropism.

We too have a similar system….only it’s called intuition. It’s our orienting force. It helps position us without recourse to conscious reasoning and helps us flow.

Yeah yeah I know trusting your intuition can be tricky.
