😍 Just look at this beautiful bouncy boy! We’ve landed on the name Jolly, for obvious reasons.

Tim finally got to meet our new addition. He’s had to settle for pics and videos and endless descriptions from the kids while he was traveling this week. But all of that doesn’t compare to seeing a Valais in person. We’ve been in the breedup program since 2019. Following so many others journeys online and seeing countless images. But till now we didn’t fully get it. Valais are really like puppies. Once you meet and cuddle one, you want one in your backyard no matter how small.

Ok y’all I think the Dorset/Valais cross should definitely be called the Panda Bear lambs. They have the sweet little kisses of color in all the right places!

Our F1 Gail lambed in the middle of last night. Meet Idalou, an F2 ewe 75% Valais. Her markings don’t look that different than the F1s. But maybe her fleece will be more Valais like.

Don’t worry mama, I promise I’ll give this precious little girl back!

2 F1 lambs born sometime this morning, not sure what time but they were on the ground at 8am. Since we didn’t see it happen we weren’t sure who the mama was because the lambs were trying to nurse on all the girls. As you can imagine, when we found mama we had some trouble but both lambs are nursing well with the head gate in place. A headgate is essential for shepherds that do not want bottle lambs. Lambs nurtured by mama are healthier and that what we want.
