We are a year round school but even this teacher needs a break. Feeling revived with a good reset. To turn the executive functioning off is a real thing. Time to reboot it and get back online.
Setting up the school this past week to welcome the kiddos back reminded me how much I not only miss them, yet how much I love my job. Even there was excitement in me!

Today’s a big day for these three. Pre-k graduation!
It has been an honor and a privilege to have been your teacher. To watch you grow and learn, grow and learn, and grow and learn. May you take away the valuable skills you have learned while at this tiny escuela. It’s not how many letters are in the alphabet. The sounds each letter in your name makes. It’s about the core values we practice.
In a world which moves fast, it’s important to slow down.
To practice being gentle, kind, and loving.
No matter the obstacle, you are capable of doing hard things.

This creeper vine is about to burst with blooms any day now.
When designing the playscape, incorporating more foliage was key. Instead of another eye sore shade structure, this was what came to mind. Love seeing how it’s grown in from last year doing exactly what we had in mind, providing shade while showing off its beauty. When in full bloom will snap another photo.

This is play based learning in real time. We know not all children learn the same way. Here, they to choose how they want to play. Even snack is a choice.
