Hey there and welcome! 🧚‍♀️

This is the official Steam Next Fest trailer for Fairy Springs — and the demo is available to play on Steam right now! It's just me here (my name's Ben, but I go by Naive Excursion for my solo dev career), so getting to share the progress I've made on this little game feels a bit surreal.

Quick but important: Steam Next Fest kicks off tomorrow, and Fairy Springs is part of it! If anything in this trailer makes you smile, the single most helpful thing you could do is play the demo and — most importantly — Wishlist the game during the Fest. So what is Fairy Springs?
It's a cozy little story set in a peaceful glen that shifts through all four seasons of the year (inspired by a trip my wife and I took to Scotland!). You play as Skye, a well-meaning fairy on her very first assignment as guardian of the valley — exploring, helping out its animal residents, and slowly getting to know everyone living there.

There's a sleepy bear, some quarreling lovebirds, a hungry squirrel, a newt who thinks he's human — 10 unique characters in all, each with hand-animated portraits and dialogue that changes day to day as you uncover their stories. It's the kind of game you can finish over a few evenings, with handcrafted pixel art that transforms with the seasons, plus an original soundtrack and nature ambience to melt into. There are also collectibles, some silly cosmetic hats, and achievements on the way if you're into that.

It's sincere, a little bit funny, and mostly just meant to be a warm place to spend some time and chill.

Fairy Springs should arrive on Steam near the start of Q3 2026 (just in time for fall!), but the demo is playable right now. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear what you think. Every Wishlist and comment means the world. 🧚
