Timber harvests create excellent wildlife habitat! Both pics were taken on an active log job. The first nest is in a white oak top. The other is within 70 feet of the loader in the log butt off pile!

Tree ID Tuesday! What species is it? One of the largest of its kind I’ve seen in my 20 years. It’s 25.4 inches at breast height!

An email has been sent out with a log prospectus to potential buyers. The logs can be scaled next week with the bid opening next Friday March 1 at 1 p.m.

I have never been involved in a large scale log sale like this one! It has been a great experience! Thanks to Rich Mountain Forestry and Mill Bound Trucking for making this an awesome and unique experience. Logs will be ready to view next week!

BREAKING NEWS: China to Remove Tariffs on U.S. Hardwoods

Based on reports from the Agricultural Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing as well as the Chinese Ministry of Finance, the Chinese government will remove U.S. hardwood lumber import tariffs starting on February 28, 2020, for one year.
