Want to learn more about the history of African Americans in Brazos County? Participate in our Hunt for Black History in the Brazos series and enter your name to win a prize! This installment will focus on the Bryan area. All Ages allowed.
Here’s how it works:
1. Pick up your “History Guidebook” at the Carnegie History Center, Mounce or Ringer Library between Feb. 2nd and Feb. 27th.
2. Visit the locations in the Guidebook, follow the Objectives at each location, and write down the answers.
3. Return your completed Guidebook to either the Carnegie, Mounce or Ringer Library no later than Saturday, Feb. 28th at 5 PM. Please note Carnegie will be closed the 28th.
You will be contacted if your name is drawn for a prize the first week of March!

All Bryan + College Station Public Library locations will be closing at 5 PM on Wednesday, December 31, for New Year's Eve and will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for New Year's Day.

All Bryan + College Station Libraries will be closed Wednesday, December 24 through Friday, December 26 for the holidays. We will also be closed on January 1st, with an early closure at 5PM on December 31st.

The Carnegie History Center is pleased to announce that we have a DigiLab that will be open to the public to digitize your VHS, VHS-C, 8mm and Super8, cassettes, LPs, CDs, photos, negatives, 50mm slides, and more for free. In order to use the DigiLab an orientation to learn to use the technology is required.
Join us on December 8th at 3pm to receive your orientation. Ages 16 and up. Registration required.
