We are so excited to announce that a very familiar face is officially stepping into a new role at Mary Branch Elementary! Please join us in celebrating our new BEST (Behavioral and Emotional Supports) Teacher, Kylie LeBlanc! 🐻❤️

Ms. LeBlanc recently graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in EC–6 Education and a minor in Special Education. If she looks familiar, it’s because last year she had the privilege of serving as our year-long resident BEST teacher right here at Branch Elementary, supporting our K–4 students as they grew their social, emotional, and behavioral skills!

We are incredibly lucky that she is continuing her journey with us to serve our amazing students and families full-time!

A little more about Ms. LeBlanc:

Her Approach: She is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff while creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels valued and capable of success.

We are thrilled to officially introduce and welcome our brand new Assistant Principal, Evony Searles, to the Bear Nation family! 🐻❤️

Mrs. Searles comes to Branch Elementary with an incredible 23 years of experience in public education, spanning elementary and middle school levels. She has a deeply diverse background as a special education instructional aide, 1st and 3rd-grade teacher, reading and math interventionist, librarian, instructional coach, and assistant principal.

She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University - San Antonio and a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTSA.

A little more about Mrs. Searles:

Her Passion: Building positive relationships and practicing servant leadership.

Fun Facts: She is a self-declared super-fan of the San Antonio Spurs and loves cooking and spending time at home with her husband and three teenagers.

We are absolutely thrilled to introduce the newest member of our Bear Nation family, our new Counselor, Symone Jones Mejorado! 🐻❤️

Mrs. Jones Mejorado is a certified Texas School Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor with over 10 years of combined experience in education as both a teacher and a school counselor. She holds a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University and is currently pursuing her LPC licensure!

Her extensive background gives her an incredibly strong foundation in social-emotional learning, crisis support, and building positive relationships with our students, families, and staff.

A little more about Mrs. Jones Mejorado:

Professional Passion: In her free time, she proudly serves as a board member of the Texas Career Development Association (TCDA), a division of the Texas Counseling Association (TCA)!

A Familiar Face: She is incredibly excited to return to Bryan ISD and join the Branch Elementary community!

The more hands to help, the less one person has to do! Yes, PTO does take a lot to run behind the scenes to do ALL THE THINGS, but we all work as a team so no one gets burned out or has too much on their plate.
To coordinate our Bear Buddies Reading program, you dont have to be at the school during the day very much. If you already have a desk job or have time to make sign ups and send emails, this could be a great fit for you. Mesagae us or email us at [email protected] for details if you're interested!

A new chapter has begun! Tonight was the official wrap up meeting for the 25-26 school year and things were handed over for next year's new president.
We are so excited to start planning for the 26-27 school year!
