Found these old design photos today.

These are from an early Peppermint Land fabric collection featuring my original pattern designs. Linen is beautiful and pricey.

Every surface pattern design started with a hand-drawn sketch.

Sketches became textile designs printed on linen.

Different projects.
Same creative process: illustration, ideas and experimentation.

Some things never change.
I still love creating designs that tell a story.

5 Signs Your Brand Is Drifting

* Your fonts change every month.
* Your colors aren’t consistent.
* You recreate graphics every time.
* Your visuals don’t feel connected.
* You’re making brand decisions from scratch.

ALL OF THIS = Frustration on daily basis

Consistency creates confidence.

* Choose 2–3 brand fonts and stick with them.
* Use the same color palette every time.
* Create a few reusable templates.
* Keep your brand assets organized in one place.
* Make brand decisions once, then repeat them.

WHY?

Because great brands aren’t built by making new decisions every day. They’re built by making the right decisions once and using them consistently.

Pinterest, is it working for you or against you?

Also, the commercial was from the 80’s, not the 70’s wrong decade, right concept!😂

A designer’s inspiration rarely comes from a design file.

Every texture, color and shape tells a story.
A weathered book cover.
The colors found in nature.

The details hidden in old objects.
Nostalgic childhood memories.
These are the things a designer notices.

Those observations become the foundation for brand identities, illustrations and visual systems designed to feel thoughtful and unique.

I have always been a collector.
As a designer, I look for details because they often hold the beginnings of a story.

The same is true for your brand.
The little things that make your business different, the reason you started, the experiences that shaped your approach, and the details your customers remember are often where the strongest ideas begin.

Every brand has a story. Sometimes the smallest details are where the best ideas begin.

A logo is an important milestone, but it isn’t the finish line.

Once your logo is complete, the real questions begin.

• Which colors should I use?
• Which fonts belong together?
• How do I keep my social media, website and marketing consistent?
• How do I make my business look professional everywhere?

Without a plan, it’s easy for your brand to become inconsistent over time.

That’s exactly why I created Brand Blueprint.
Brand Blueprint gives you the strategy, design system and brand guidelines to help you use your brand with confidence long after the logo is finished.

Because the goal isn’t just to have a beautiful logo. It’s to build a brand that works consistently from logo to launch.

Have you ever wondered what actually comes after the logo? Let me know below.

It’s one piece of a much bigger picture.

Along with the logo comes a guide that helps my clients use their brand with confidence. From logo variations and color palettes to typography and everyday design decisions.

The goal isn’t to create more rules.

It’s to remove the guesswork.

When your brand is clear, decisions become easier, your marketing becomes more consistent, and your business becomes more recognizable over time.
That’s what good branding is designed to do.

Have you ever wondered what comes after the logo? I dive deeper into it in this month’s blog.

The Brand Blueprint is not new, it is the method I have curated for almost 18 years.

Designing for small business brands in a way that is just as unique as what they do.

Leaning into that method it will be my starting point for all projects.

Streamlined and strong, focused on the goal.

Consistent and clear brands succeed.

This will be the foundation of each brand I create.

Because quality and original work from a human being matters.

If you are not ready, I get that. But don’t derail the momentum.

This workbook will be the guide you never thought you needed.

I cannot wait to share it with you!
