Hey y’all- our next Beyond Kegels Workshop is coming up fast. It’s Saturday, October 25th from 9:30-11:00 (we’ll be done with plenty of time for you to head over and fill up on shrimp and grits at the festival 😛)

Come get all the info you need to know to help your pelvic floor be it’s best. Immediately applicable tips and tricks to improve leaks, constiption or pain, basically everything we would share on your first visit to see a pelvic floor therapist.

Call 912-342-8982 (excelarate) and get your name on the list before space runs out.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Hey everyone- it’s time! Beyond Kegels is tomorrow at 9:30 at the clinic (we’re behind cheddars restaurant in Brunswick). It shouldn’t be longer than about an hour and a half, even if y’all have a bunch of questions.

We’ll have some tasty snacks, and talk thru what changes you can implement immediately to help out your pelvic floor.

Often time if we have any questions or issues with our pelvic health were only told to do kegels, but sometimes that’s the opposite of what your body needs.

Come tomorrow and you’ll learn some easy tips and tricks that are immediately applicable to your life to optimize your health.

Injury? Don’t just RICE it anymore! 🚨

For years, the go-to advice for managing acute injuries like sprains and strains was RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. While this approach made sense at the time, newer research shows it may not be the best way to support long-term recovery.

👉 Enter the updated, evidence-based approach: PEACE & LOVE

PEACE (for the acute phase – right after injury):
• Protect: Avoid movements that increase pain for the first few days
• Elevate: Raise the injured area above heart level
• Avoid anti-inflammatories: These may slow healing by interfering with natural inflammation
• Compress: Use appropriate support to manage swelling
• Educate: Empower patients to understand their injury and healing process

LOVE (for the subacute and chronic phase – a few days after injury and beyond):
• Load: Gradually reintroduce movement to promote tissue repair
• Optimism: Positive mindset supports better outcomes
• Vascularization: Get moving with pain-free cardio to improve circulation
• Exercise: Tailored rehab to build strength, mobility, and function

💡Why the change?
We now know that too much rest and icing can actually delay healing. Inflammation is part of the body’s natural repair process, and gentle movement helps tissues recover stronger and faster.

At Excelarate Physical Therapy, we stay up-to-date with the latest science so you get the best possible care from day one. Questions about an injury? We’re here to help.

Drop your hellos to Tessa below. She is currently enrolled at the College of Coastal Georgia studying biological sciences. She is a lifelong softball player, is usually found near the beach, lake or some other body of water and has a beautiful German shepherd but the name of Kaiser.

Ask her about one of these things the next time you’re in the clinic. She’ll be in our Brunswick location thru the summer until she returns to classes in the Fall. She is one of our PT Techs, who keep us running daily with anything that may come up in the clinic.
