Command Presence Training is coming to Pearl, Mississippi, October 13–15 for De-Escalation: Strategies for Best Possible Outcomes—Train the Trainer, hosted by the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy (MLEOTA).
This three-day course goes beyond learning de-escalation strategies. It prepares instructors to confidently and consistently teach them within their own agencies.
Over three days, participants will:
• Day 1: Experience the complete De-Escalation course as a participant
• Day 2: Strengthen instructional methods and effective training delivery
• Day 3: Demonstrate instructor readiness through assessment and evaluated teach-backs

Thinking takes effort. Under pressure, it becomes even easier to rely on instinct, assumptions, familiar patterns, or the way we’ve always done things.

Leadership development doesn’t end when the class is over. That’s when the real work begins.
In his latest article, “Why Real Law Enforcement Leadership Starts After the Classroom,” Command Presence Training CEO Michael Warren examines the difference between treating leadership training as something to complete and building a culture where what was learned is continually practiced, reinforced, and modeled.
Classroom instruction provides the framework. But mentorship, accountability, feedback, and daily decisions are what turn those lessons into stronger leaders and healthier organizations.
As Michael puts it:
“Certificates measure attendance. Accountability measures transformation.”
The question after leadership training shouldn’t be, “Did our people complete it?”
