Happy Juneteenth! β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’š

In 2023, I had the honor of meeting Dr. Opal Lee, the woman known as the "Grandmother of Juneteenth." Not only did I get to meet her, but she also received one of my booksβ€”a moment I'll never forget.

And yes y'all I cried 🀣

As a young Black author, meeting someone who has dedicated her life to preserving history and creating change was truly inspiring. Dr. Lee reminds us that you're never too old or too young to make a difference in your community and beyond.

Today, I celebrate Juneteenth by honoring the generations who came before us, the progress that has been made, and the work that still continues. May we continue to learn, grow, and use our voices to create positive change.

Happy Juneteenth! ✨

The real MVPs of the night? Our moms. πŸ˜‚πŸ’• They understood the assignment and had to get their picture too! Thanks for always cheering us on and making sure we never give up on our dreams. 🫢🏾✨

One of the best parts about being a young author is meeting other amazing authors! πŸ“šπŸ’•

I was so happy to see Mrs. Ivy again! We've shared a panel together, and she's always been so kind and encouraging. Mrs. Ivy is the owner of Ivy Inspiring Books , where she shares fun and inspiring stories that help kids love reading and use their imaginations.

I love meeting people who remind me that no dream is too big and that books can make a difference in the world. Thank you, Mrs. Ivy, for being such an inspiration and for always supporting young authors like me!

If you haven't already, check out Ivy Inspiring Books and show her some love! πŸ’–

Hey Friends! It's KayLee Michelle!

Tonight was really special for me!

When I was 6 years old, one of my very first book tour stops was with Ms. Katrene Crump of Crumpster's Event Design & Rentals. She gave me an opportunity to share my books, my creativity, and my dream of becoming a young author.

Now, seven years later, I had the honor of returningβ€”not just to sell books, but to speak as a youth entrepreneur and author at the UJAMAA Business Networking Event! πŸŽ€πŸ“š Ujamaa BWK

It's amazing to look back and see how far I've come. Moments like this remind me to keep believing in myself and to never stop chasing my dreams. I'm so thankful for Ms. Crump and everyone who has supported me along the way.

And the adventure isn't over! I'm getting ready to release my SIXTH book on July 5th! πŸ“–
MY BIRTHDAY!

From my first book tour stop to speaking on a panel, this is my "Then & Now" moment. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of my journey. I can't wait to see what's next!

Love,

✨ Hey Friends! It's KayLee Michelle! ✨

This month, I got to job shadow an amazing nail tech, Christina, and it was SO much fun! πŸ’…πŸΎ I learned about what it's like to be a nail technician, got to see all the creativity and hard work that goes into making beautiful nails, and even picked up some cool new skills along the way.

Thank you, Christina, for letting me spend the day with you and teaching me so many new things. I had a blast and can't wait to learn even more about different careers and hobbies!

What should I explore next? πŸ’–βœ¨

Today was a really good day! I got to continue my job shadow at Ware Middle School with Ms. Jones, and I honestly had so much fun. I was able to sit in with the eighth graders, experience what a real classroom is like from both sides, and I even took a test and made a 93! I liked it so much that I asked if I could come back again. This was also my first time ever being inside a public middle school, so it was a big experience for me.

I want to say thank you to Ms. Jones and the school administration for letting me have this opportunity, and a special thank you to Mrs. Julia Graves for escorting us and making sure we didn't get lost.

And a big thank you to my homeschool teacher, Ms. Frazier, (My grandmother) Yvette Frazier and Hashondra Jernigan (My mother). I’m really thankful for everyone who is helping me learn, grow, and step into new experiences!
