🌟 Board Member Spotlight: Michele Seals 🌟

Forward Brunswick is proud to spotlight one of our longest serving board members, Michele Seals, a dedicated educator, community leader, and lifelong advocate for service in Brunswick, Georgia.

As Chief of Staff for Glynn County Schools, Michele has devoted her career to supporting students, educators, and families throughout our community. Beyond her professional role, she actively serves through organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Zeta Iota Omega Chapter, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. – Golden Isles Chapter, Bethel Evangel Community Church, Kiwanis International, the Georgia Association of School Personnel Administrators, and the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders.

When she’s not serving her community, Michele enjoys reading, traveling, and helping others—passions that reflect her commitment to personal growth and making a positive difference in the lives of those around her.

The aspect of Forward Brunswick’s mission that resonates most with Michele is inspiring community commitment. As she shares, “This is our community, and if it is to thrive, we must be an active part of helping it to flourish.”

Michele’s leadership, servant heart, and dedication to community engagement make her an invaluable member of the Forward Brunswick Board. We are grateful for her service and her vision for a stronger, more connected Brunswick.

Earlier this month, Executive Director Lance Sabbe attended the Congress for the New Urbanism Conference ( ) in Northwest Arkansas, joining community leaders, planners, developers, and advocates from across the country to explore innovative approaches to housing, placemaking, transportation, and downtown revitalization.

The conference provided an opportunity to learn from successful projects in communities of all sizes and bring back ideas that can help strengthen Brunswick’s future. From workforce housing and walkability to public spaces and economic development, many of the conversations directly align with the ongoing work of Forward Brunswick and its mission to inspire community commitment and advance revitalization efforts throughout the city.

“Seeing communities invest intentionally in people-focused development was incredibly inspiring,” said Lance Sabbe. “There are so many ideas and strategies that can translate to Brunswick as we continue building momentum around housing, connectivity, and creating vibrant places for residents and visitors alike.”

The mission has always been simple: providing affordable workforce housing in the heart of Brunswick for the people who serve our community every day.
