Take a peek at how the world of Tallulah Park began. 🕊️
Before filming began, writer/actor Michelle Calloway created this mood board to guide the film’s visual and emotional direction. Drawing inspiration from ‘70s film photography, Southern landscapes, and iconic female characters, the board became a tool for grounding creative decisions — from wardrobe to cinematography and the final soundtrack.
Olivia’s look was imagined as “Penny Lane meets Erin Brockovich,” giving her a layered, lived-in presence that reflects her inner complexity. The film uses a visual palette of soft yellows, worn reds, and faded blues to mirror themes of nostalgia, disconnection, and quiet resilience.
Exteriors reflect the grit and beauty of old Florida — open roads, gas stations and old motels. Interiors lean into emotional contrast, with bold reds and cooler blues representing the highs and lows of Olivia’s internal journey.
Music also played a vital role in shaping the world of the film. A curated playlist was created during pre-production to help guide tone and mood — a blend of soul, country, and 70s-inspired tracks. Many of the songs on that list became part of the final soundtrack, taking on the role of an emotional narrator — almost another character in Olivia’s story.
The mood board not only helped align the team creatively, it became a visual compass that held the spirit of Tallulah Park all the way through production.
