Brooklyn Pride had our whole heart this weekend. ππ
Maimonides Health was proud to march, run, and celebrate alongside the LGBTQIA+ community at the Brooklyn Pride Race, festival, and parade. Our team connected with neighbors and families, sharing information about our Primary Care Clinic and Mental Health Program, because everyone in Brooklyn deserves access to compassionate, affirming care.
Seeing our staff and their families on the float? That was the best part. π
At Maimonides Health, everyone belongs and everyone deserves care that reflects that.

This Memorial Day weekend, our Maimonides Military Veterans BERG did what veterans do, they showed up, rain and all.
Our team proudly marched in the 159th Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade, representing Maimonides Health with gratitude, pride, and unshakeable spirit.
But the most powerful moment came near the end of the route, when a young member of the Greater New York Conference Drumline collapsed on the parade route. Three members of our BERG responded immediately:
πΊπΈ Donna Crockett, Senior Nursing Director and Army Veteran
πΊπΈ Juan Moscol, Staff Nurse on 8 West and Navy Veteran
πΊπΈ Thomas McIntyre, Union 1199 Contract Administrator, PA, and Navy Veteran
A Maimonides ambulance staffed by paramedic Navtaj Bajwa and EMT Nicole Mishler, herself an Army Veteran, was on scene in the parade and responded immediately to ensure the young man received every bit of care he needed.
These are our employees. These are our veterans. Serving our community and serving our country.
We are endlessly proud of every member of our Military Veterans BERG. π
June is Caribbean American Heritage Month and at Maimonides Health, we are proud to celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of Caribbean Americans who make Brooklyn the vibrant, extraordinary place it is.
From our multilingual providers to our deep roots in neighborhoods like Flatbush, East Flatbush, and Little Haiti, serving Brooklyn's Caribbean community is not just something we do. It's who we are.
To every Caribbean American patient, family, neighbor, and team member we see you, we celebrate you, and we are honored to be part of your community.

June 14 is World Blood Donor Day and we're calling on Brooklyn to give the gift of life.
Every 3 seconds someone needs blood, yet less than 5% of the population donates. Every day, donors are needed for the thousands of patients who require blood transfusions.
The good news? No appointment necessary for whole blood donations. Just walk in, roll up your sleeve, and make a difference for a neighbor in need.

Last month, we honored the many students who volunteer their time caring for the community and learning from our Maimonides Health providers and staff. The Student Volunteer Recognition Breakfast celebrated these selfless high schoolers whose service brings so much to Brooklyn every year. Thank you, student volunteers!

Turns out even therapy dogs are Dorito fans. ππΎ
When our pet therapy friends from the Good Dog Foundation visited Maimonides Health, one very devoted pup spotted Dorito's portrait and couldn't contain the love. We get it. Dorito has that effect on people.
Dorito is a cat, not a snack, but he is nacho average hospital cat. As a beloved member of our Child Life team, Dorito helps make hospital visits a little less scary and a lot more fun for our youngest patients. That's kind of his superpower. π

On May 30th, Maimonides Health was proud to participate in the Health Fair 2026 at Kensington School 202 on Avenue C in Brooklyn, connecting with nearly 700 community members right in their own neighborhood.
From families to students to neighbors, it was a wonderful opportunity to bring health resources, information, and a friendly face to the Kensington community.
