CUNY has launched the Chancellor’s Emergency Relief Fund to help students facing financial hardship during the COVID-19 crisis. The Dimon Foundation and the Petrie Foundation each announced initial gifts of $1 million to establish the fund, which will distribute grants of $500 each to thousands of CUNY students who are coping with the severe economic fallout of the extraordinary public health emergency.

Students will begin remote digital learning on Monday, March 23. Grab and go meals will be provided to all students for pick-up this week. Beginning March 23, the City will provide supervision to children of health care workers, first responders and transit workers. Visit nyc.gov for updates.

On Monday, March 9, a student had a medical emergency that was not related to the Coronavirus, and the student is recovering. There have been a number of inquiries and social media posts sharing inaccurate information.

There are no cases of COVID-19 at Kingsborough Community College. The College is open and classes are running on the normal schedule.

The health, safety and well-being of our campus community is important to us. We are working closely with CUNY’s Coronavirus Task Force, the NYS Department of Health and the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), and will update you with any relevant additional information.

Everyone can do their part to help minimize the potential impact of this emerging public health threat. Continue to wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to help stop the spread of germs. If you feel sick, please contact your health provider.
