Join us at The Boiler for HOMAGE: A Tribute to Self
Edward R. Murrow's Senior Art Exhibition

Curated and produced by students in collaboration with ELM Foundation’s Curation Class, led by Bobbi Salvör Menuez

Opening reception: Friday, May 29th, 4-7pm.

Homage explores the connections between self, culture, and memory through a series of deeply personal works. Drawing from themes of culture, belonging, alienation, and adolescence, the artists reflect on the experiences and relationships that shaped their identities over time.

This exhibition space is arranged as a series of intimate domestic environments, and viewers are invited to move through fragments of both personal and shared experiences. The familiar interiors shown here are filled with traces of everyday life, from clothing and cultural foods to illustrated photographs, portraits, and personal objects. Combined, these spaces reveal moments of vulnerability, tradition, and memory that often remain unacknowledged by the outside world.

The show will run from May 29th - June 5th
FREE and open to the public.

Zine Artist: Sylvie Bald

What lies between bodies,
Pacific & Atlantic,
In limerence and apathy,
Space - a word,
Human - a form,
Cannot be sewn or welded to another.

There is something alive between bodies,
Just as much as within them.

Join us for BETWEEN BODIES, LaGuardia High School’s Senior Art Exhibition, curated by students in collaboration with ELM Foundation’s Curation Class.

This show offers a space to explore what exists in the space between us. What separates bodies, in a physical or emotional sense? What dictates said separation or attachment? What causes us to come together, and is there always something between us, no matter how hard we try?

In a variety of media, these artists have explored these questions and themes of disharmony and harmony, limerence and apathy, or chaos and congruency.

Opening reception: Friday, May 15th, 5-8pm.
The show will run from May 15th - May 23rd.

A little look at Open Studio! 👀

This is a more flexible practicum class for advanced students, where they work on independent studies in their chosen medium with a mentor’s guidance.

Right now we have a mixture of screen printing and stop motion projects happening with some very talented students. :)

Field Trip to the Whitney Museum of American Art!

This week the curation class stepped out of the classroom and headed into the city for some inspiration from the pros.

Walking through the Whitney’s exhibitions, students explored how artists present their work, how themes are developed across a show, and what makes a gallery really click.

Nothing like seeing it in person to spark ideas for their upcoming shows!

Both shows will take place in ELM's gallery space, The Boiler, guided by ✨
