Another fun afternoon with Romel M Lal & the gang today. The fishing was 5 but the vibes were a 10! We caught a bunch of fish in tough conditions & came home with a few keepers. Pretty good for a late June afternoon on 20kn winds 🤘
Even got to catch a little world cup under the BK bridge lol

That’s Julien, he’s 17ys old, shot a black bear & is shipping off to West Point in 10 days 🏆
He’d never caught a saltwater fish and caught a 30” fluke on his 1st cast with a live bunker, then proceeded to put a beating on the bass today. Cool kid, can’t wait to have him back on with us! Christopher Dom was high hook with a bunch of overs & everyone caught with steady action all day.
We’re wrapping up the handful of bass charters in the books then switching over to Tuna in July. They’re already here so grab those Tuna dates at www.rockfishcharters.com 🤘

We won the Manhattan Cup for the 2nd time in 3 years yesterday! It was a nail biter of a day, my wedding rehearsal dinner started at 6pm and we had to check in an hour early in order to make it back to BK in time. So with a shortened day and a real slow bite we couldn’t afford any mistakes- any promptly pulled the hook on 4 fish in a row 😬
The tension on the boat got turned up to 10 but we kept pounding the same area where we’re marking a ton of bait and finally landed fish #5! At 45” we figured it wouldn’t get the job done, but the pressure was off. Then with 20 mins left we finally hooked & landed the right one, which taped out a little over 50”! Congrats Mike for landing the big one & thnx to for organizing such a good tournament for a great cause! And spoiler alert made it to the dinner in time 🤘

So yesterday afternoon was probably our worst trip in 2+ years going 0/1 in real bumpy seas. This afternoon was starting to look like a repeat: Couldn’t get bait, conditions way worse than called for, and couldn’t buy a bite 😬
We were about to run back inside & pull out the trolling spread for a hail mary, but decided to stop at our bunker honey hole one more time, got a lucky throw off & finally filled the wells. A short run to the grounds and on our 1st drop (at slack tide) with an hour left in the trip & immediately tripled up! Then it was game on with long drifts, an easy limit, and bass to 40”! Don’t call it a comeback lol

So big Sid thought he was babysitting his grandkids today & instead got a surprise 70th birthday party Rockfish style -catching the 1st & biggest bass of the day! Fun morning watching big bass inhale live bunker close to home 🤘
We still have some June availability left and are starting our tuna season in July, see our full calendar at www.rockfishcharters.com

This pic really shows why we love doing this every day. Joe took his grandson, Jack, fishing with us to show him our local NYC fishery. Jack’s caught 10lb largemouth bass and a 9lb walleye at home in Montauk and was an absolute beast on the rod all day! (And who even knew there were bass and walleye out in Montauk? 😂)
We netted our bait in the bay first thing, then hit every spot on the way out to the eeling grounds. We put in a solid effort at every stop—missed a bunch, caught a few, but it’s not always about the final headcount. We had a real adventure running over 100 miles, witnessing some incredible surface strikes, seeing tons of sea life, and most importantly, watching Joe and Jack make some epic memories together!

🔥BLUEFIN REGULATION UPDATE 🔥
We went from being able to keep zero Bluefin to 3 per trip this season! This is going to be a game-changer for our July fishery before the Yellowfin show up. Last year, we had a massive Bluefin bite less than 15 miles from the dock in Center Moriches, and this season is setting up to be just as good.
Our next available Tuna charter is Tuesday, July 7th. Don’t miss out, lock it in at www.rockfishcharters.com or call 347-661-4501 🏆

For our afternoon trip we had John & friends back out with us again for a real slam dunk of a trip! There was so many bass around we caught em in the cast net & the guys started landing fish before we could even put the net away lol. We bounced around catching and easy limit & fish to 42”

Another fun one with Itchie bringing 3 generations on the boat today! we waited out the rain & pushed out at 11am, but the fish didn’t mind the late start. Bait was slapping everywhere & bass snapped at almost every stop. Hopefully our afternoon curse is lifted lol.
