AssataBAKES Since then, with the guidance of the women in her family, she's been using baking as a means of self-expression.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Assata first fell in love with the art of baking at the age of 11 when she took her first home economics class at Philippa Schuyler Middle School. She studied communications at Baruch College where she received her Bachelor’s degree from and is now teaching herself the language of food.
