Ég varla til orð yfir gærkvöldinu. Ég fékk þann heiður að vera valin Bjartasta vonin á Íslensku Tónlistarverðlaununum. Það var ekki síður skemmtilegt að fá að taka á móti þeim frá Höllu forseta og átta mig smám saman á því að hún var að tala um mig, þegar hún las upp textann um verðlaunahafann. Ég fékk líka að spila lagið mitt Heima með mínu frábæra bandi. Takk kærlega fyrir allar kveðjurnar ❤️

I am extremely grateful to have received the Brightest hope / Rising star award at the Icelandic Music Awards last night. I got to perform my song Heima at the awards as well. Being handed the award by the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir was also a huge honor. Who is also an Icelander who called NYC home for many years!

2024 AND 2025 highlights and moments, since it’s been a while since I’ve shared updates!
2024 - I graduated with my Masters from WPU. Played a lot of great gigs in Iceland and the US. Blues Alley, Library of Congress, subbing with Reykjavik Big Band to name a few. I recorded my debut album as a band leader. Meraki trio released an album. In December I started my long awaited solo trip through Colombia, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. I fell in love with salsa and I now think about going back to Colombia every day 🇨🇴
2025 I kept going on my latin america trip. Lots of album prep, learned exactly how much work goes into releasing an album. I started embroidering as a new hobby and decided that it needed to be on my album cover. Moved to Brooklyn. Took many trips to Iceland.
I am not sure what 2026 has in store. There is more room for uncertainty than most previous years and I think that’s a good thing. I hope more making music with people, more salsa and fun times ❤️

Today is a good day. I just released this live recording with Stórsveit Reykjavíkur (The Reykjavik Big Band) from our concert in may 2023. It is very dear to me, it was an honor working with Reykjavik Big Band. I continue working on more big band and Hammond organ music which will see the light of day soon.
