However, the culinary goodness from Chef Lyra Petrie lives on. Ginger Root Catering maintains the Ginger Root brand through catering events of all sizes and scope, including weddings, graduations, business meetings, baby showers, sports and music events, and many more. Our very own Chef Lyra takes "humble" carrots and turns it into an exciting dish bursting with flavor!

Serves 4 to 8 For the Chutney: 2 tablespoons lime juice 2 tablespoons raisins 1 green apple, peeled, cored and quartered 1/4 cup mint leaves 1 tablespoon fresh ginger 1 tablespoon lime zest 1/2 teaspoon sea salt For the Carrots: 3 tablespoons butter 6 carrots slice 1/4inch thick diagonally Soak raisins in lime juice for 30 minutes place raisins, apple, mint, ginger, lime zest, and salt in a food processor, or chopper, and pulse to chop. In a saute pan melt butter over medium heat, add carrots reduce heat to low and saute stirring occasionally until carrots are soft and browned around the edges. Stir in apple chutney and saute for 5 minutes. 08/19/2020

Thank you to all who braved the elements on MLK Day to enjoy some Ginger Root classics at the Bakery on Bergen. We're back by popular demand next Thursday, February 14th (Valentine's Day) from 6:30-10pm. Come out with your love and celebrate Sweet Love with two Prospect Heights favorites and music by The Legendary Chris Washington!
