Cosmic birthday cake… because glittery stars are appropriate for all age birthday celebrations. Chocolate with chocolate and raspberry filling.

Between weddings, I really love making birthday cakes. Especially when they’re for amazing friends and their kids! And even more especially when they can be an excuse to learn a new skill, in this case making wafer paper watercolor butterflies!

Another fall cake with trailing vines in gold with flowers in shades of red that coordinated perfectly with the flowers and decor.
When I first spoke to this couple, they told me they really loved tiramisu, so for the tasting, I made elements with those flavors. In the end, they settled on Espresso Cake with Mascarpone and Mocha Pastry Cream Fillings and Vanilla Buttercream. Getting to know couples and developing flavor combinations specific to them is one of my favorite things.

And what better way to celebrate a day after Thanksgiving wedding than with a cake adorned with flowers in reds, oranges, and yellows and climbing vines!

Another anniversary cake, this one 7 years ago, and in fact the cake that started it all!
Looking back on it, that day was filled with anxiety and excitement and such a feeling of accomplishment.
Each tier was composed of alternating layers of Chocolate and Lemon Cake with Raspberry Pastry Cream and Vanilla Buttercream Frosting to tie it all together.

Happy Anniversary to these two lovebirds!

This cake was so fun from start to start to finish. But then again, how could it not be when the inspiration was how much they loved sprinkles?!

7 was a rainbow vanilla cake covered in sprinkles and filled with mini M&M’s.
8 was a chocolate cake with chocolate filling and chocolate drizzle topped with chocolate covered strawberries.

Love the elegance and simplicity of the white on white flower motif with shades of green leaves of this wedding cake from last weekend. Combo of “painted” buttercream flowers and hand-sculpted gum paste roses.

Who doesn’t love a top view cake photo? One of the cakes from this past weekend. Can’t wait to get back photos from the event to show the rest of this study in blue and silver!
But really, hearing after the fact from the bride how much she loved it and that it was one of the best cakes they’ve eaten is what makes me most excited.
