Names: Rabbi Yisrael Kulski and Dr. Katz

Rabbi Yisrael and Mrs. Kulski, the Chabad Shluchim in Itacare, Brazil, had to travel to Argentina for the birth of their daughter due to the lack of a local hospital. Luckily, they met Dr. Katz, a Jewish doctor who agreed to help. During one of the appointments leading up to the birth, Rabbi Yisrael asked him if he would like to put on Tefillin. Although Dr. Katz usually doesn’t, he promised that before the birth he would put on Tefillin in honor of the special occasion.

In a groundbreaking event, Rabbi Sholom Litvin, the Chabad emissary in Bluegrass, Kentucky, performed the mitzvah of Tefillin with Daniel Grossberg, a member of the Kentucky State House, right on the House floor.

Names: Rabbi Shmuly Begun and Prof. Alberto
Romano
Mitzvah: Tefillin

Originally from East New York, 97 year-old Alberto Romano now lives in Tierrasanta, San Diego. He was a professor in mathematical statistics. When meeting with Rabbi Shmuly Begun he recalled how we used to put on tefillin every day, go to shul on shabbos, and lain the Torah. However, when he was 15 he quit it all! When Begun mentioned tefillin, Romano happily wrapped, remembering the shema.
In the emotional moment, Romano hugged Begun and expressed how very thankful he was!

Name: Yossi Rap
Mitzvah: Tefillin

A Crown Heights Hatzolah member, Yossi Rapp was expecting a visit from the NYS Department of Health but he wasn’t expecting this. Upon meeting with the inspector in the Flatbush Hatzalah garage to do a routine inspection on ambulances, Rapp grabbed the opportunity to put tefillin on him!

Name: Effie Bleich

Effie Bleich, a Bochur who set out on an adventure with Chabad of RARA - Regional and Rural Austrailia - invited the local Jews of Orange, Austrailia to a BBQ. Unsure of what the turnout would be, he was surprised and excited that he was able to guide three special Jews through the precious mitzvah of wrapping Tefillin before the sun would set.

Rabbi Zalmy Goldberg met Rodney in Dunwoody, Georgia. The two of them shared the powerful and moving experience of having Rodney wrap tefillin for the first time since he was 13 years old - his bar mitzvah!

The 30 Mile Bar Mitzvah.
Rabbi Lev Yaakov Voskoboinik, shliach by the University of Kansas, had the great honor of celebrating Austin’s bar mitzvah in Topeka, Kansas - 30 miles from the closest synagogue. The bar mitzvah boy’s Grandmother noted “There aren’t words to express the joy ... my grandson on his bar mitzvah brought us. No matter what he does the rest of his life, he will always remember this day.” Mazal Tov Austin!

Meet this 87 year old Jew born in Poland before the war. When asked, he responded that he wasn’t Jewish but his mother was... He was Aadopted by Christians during the war and baptized! 74 years later he had his Bar Mitzvah...
